I'm sure someone posted the outcome but I can't find it.

Or this "minor" issue remains unresolved???

2. LOL!
That and the 69.000 Florida dead voters will give him 119.000 votes of advantage over Kerry on November 1st, I know.

4. Thanks for the correction...
So, they were never "found"?

No government agency tracking down those ballots?

THe US Post Office is not involved on the issue?

7. They blamed it on the Post Office
Now instead of telling you the check is in the mail, the new joke in FL is your ballot is in the mail.

8. Down the memory hole.
Amazing. I'd forgotten about that with everything else going on.

FDLE ends probe of missing absentee ballots

By AMY SHERMAN and ERIKA BOLSTAD

After a brief inquiry, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has closed its investigation into why thousands of absentee ballots have not reached Broward County voters.

FDLE was asked to investigate Tuesday after being contacted by county elections officials, said Paige Patterson-Hughes, spokesperson for the agency's South Florida region.

But after preliminary discussions with Broward Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes, investigators found no evidence of criminal intent, and no reason to continue the investigation.

Exactly how many absentee ballots are missing is unclear. About 58,000 were mailed on Oct. 7th and 8th and Salas said elections officials know that not all of those ballots are missing because some have been returned.

Fla. Republicans, Democrats trade accusations
Tensions high over fraud claims, missing ballots

The Associated Press

Workers at Broward County’s elections office prepared 1,000 absentee ballots for overnight shipment to Floridians in other states, and expected to send up to 14,000 ballots by Friday to residents who requested them weeks ago.

The U.S. Postal Service has denied mishandling the ballots, but a regional manager worried in an internal e-mail that his staff seemed unaware of procedures for processing them, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported in Friday editions.

South Florida District Manager Butch Parker wrote Tuesday that absentee ballots with improper postage sat idle in postal facilities instead of being returned to their sender, and that they “continue to find absentee ballots mixed in with other classes of mail.”

About 58,000 ballots were mailed on Oct. 7 and 8, according to county officials, who said many either did not arrive at residents’ homes or didn’t arrive in a timely way.

Broward County elections supervisor Brenda Snipes said Thursday that her office has sent out some 128,000 absentee ballots this year, that 72,000 completed ballots have already been returned, and she expects 40,000 more by Tuesday.

128,000 sent
-72,000 returned
=56,000
but they expect
-40,000
more to be returned, so that only leaves
16,000 in question

overnighting
1,000
and sending
14,000 more by October 30th
that takes care of
15,000 of the pesky unknowns

and leaves only
1,000 in question.
not 58,000.

move on. gedoverit. problem solved. wouldn't change the outcome anyway. couldn't be reached for comment. go shop. not my department. left to spend more time with the family. it was that way when I got here. I said I was sorry, what more do you want? better late than never. no evidence of criminal intent. case dismissed. trust us. nothing can go wrong. wrong. wrong. wrong.

Rumsfeld summed it up better than I ever could when he said:

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know."

Sure sounds like a Florida Election to me.
