Edwards says "It's not over"
Last night I saw John Edwards on C-Span, giving a little talk about his Senate accomplishments to some NC residents. At the end he said something to the effect of "And regarding the election, it's not over for me yet, not by a long shot." Of course the crowd went nuts.

This was a replay of a Wednesday event.

1. Why did he say "me"

Did he mean that Kerry thinks it is over.

5. Not connected at the hip
I don't think that running together in the summer/fall of 2004 for Pres. & Vice-Pres. necessarily means that John Edwards and John Kerry are now permanently connected at the hip.

They both had careers before and they'll both have careers after.

I'm sure Edwards was speaking for himself and himself alone while letting Kerry take care of himself.

Did you also see the part where he said that Kerry was one of the greatest, strongest, most dedicated people and that he would have made a great president? Obviously I'm paraphrasing since I don't have the exact quote. He was really very nice to Kerry.

I couldn't be happier that it's not over for Edwards!

7. Help the politicians wake up to the fact that this fight is GOOD Politics!
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 12:29 PM by pat_k
For the past four years, every time any speaker mentioned the stolen election or even the word "Florida", crowds went nuts.

Politicians are at these events (and occassionally even uttered the word "Florida") and somehow failed to get the clue ("Hey, leveling accusations of election theft is GOOD Politics! Look at the response!")

Perhaps it is up to us to hit them with a clue-by-four: fighting for the integrity of election 2004 is not just the RIGHT thing to do, it is GOOD POLITICS! A Win Win!!

There is a simple test. Speak out and watch the results.

The theft of our democracy in 2000 has been THE driving force behind the intensity this election cycle. If ANY politician stands up and joins us -- 100% -- in the fight for the integrity of Election 2004, there will be no turning back for that person.

Screw the Howard Dean for DNC distraction. Lobby Howard Dean and DFA to get in front on this fight!

If Howard Dean provides the spark and gives voice to our fury on this; if he joins the battle to fight for investigation and audit of the election in EVERY STATE, I am confident that he would find himself leading a charge that dwarfs what we saw at the height of the Dean campaign.

Get out your Clue Sticks and call Democracy for America at 802.651.3200 (phone) 802.651.3299 (fax) today! Tell Tom McMahon (DFA Executive Director) what you think too.

10. Why not make this a separate post?
I agree- perhaps we should all lobby Howard Dean. It is bizarre that he is being so quiet and not getting involved in the recount efforts for the Presidental election or in the initiatives going on with the other varous groups (including Progressive Democrats of America).

You might want to put up a specific post on this and call it "D.U. Lobby For Dean" with the same info as mentioned above.
