Al Franken..."His exit polls may be screwy..."
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 04:43 PM by propagandafreegal
Al Franken introduced one of his guests on his show today with that intro. Not good.... I can't stomach him anymore....

1. I have forgiven Al
I was mad as hell for quite a few weeks there, but as of late, I have let me anger go.

I still think that Al is a good guy and he believes in the cause. Granted, he is somewhat of a centrist but I think he is good to have on our side!

3. He's not really an experienced reporter or talk show host
and I'll take Jon for my comedy.

I doubt Air America could have gotten started without his celebrity addition, so I'll always be grateful for that...

4. al playong it cool is the right thing to do . . .
if he was railing about VOTERgate he would only call attention to the efforts by the GOP sound machine . . .

i thihk that he, like JK, is playing it cool, waiting to see what happens when the crimes are unearthed . . . it is the best thing he could do.

we the people need to do the heavy lifting on this and we are UP TO IT . . .

9. If they didn't play it cool
all of this evidence wouldn't be getting uncovered now.

If Kerry made this issue about himself, then the counting would have stopped, and the election would have gone straight to the courts, and we know how well that went last time.

I am sure the Repugs are crapping their pants, because Kerry did the one thing they did not expect. He step back from the fray. When Kerry steps back into the limelight again, don't worry, it will be one of the most significant moments in US history.

6. Can't listen to him. he's like Begala, Carville jumping on Dems
in the primary (I dunno/care what they are doing nowadays)
I cannot forgive this. His show is as toxic as Crossfire to me.

8. I gather there is increasing tension on the part of the other AAR hosts
too.

That's been clear with Randi Rhodes and Mark M has been pretty scathing in his imitations at times. But lately Liz and Rachel (Unfiltered) have been pretty crtical, though somewhat subtly. They, in fact brought up all Reid's "gifts" to the RW announced on MTP and commented on how that just lost us any bargaining room. Then they mentioned he was going to be on Franken with sort of a knowing tone--at least to me.

I think part of the problem is he clearly wants "cross over apeal" for a Senate run in 08 and Kathryn L. still fancies herself a "pure journalist with integrity." So they both bend over constantly to give the RW benefit of the doubt, while excoriating the far and even center Left.
