I Know You Are Excited, But Don't Look For Recount Results Any Time Soon
CNN Ohio Recount

McAuliffe said the party is not seeking to overturn the result but to ensure that every vote is counted. He said the study will be conducted by nonpartisan experts to be announced later, with a report issued in the spring that recommends reforms to prevent such problems in the future

1. There's a difference between the report and an investigation of fraud
I was sad when I first read that sentence, too, but then I realized that 1) the DNC is being low-key about this on purpose, and their involvement now (in the absence of any really dramatic developments that would have forced their hand) suggests to me that this has been a deliberate strategy all along to avoid being labeled as tin-hatters, and 2) evidence of fraud can be released before the report is written.

9. I'm okay with it because it indicates long-term support. It turns the key.

2. I saw the same thing-- Report issued In the Spring
It's very disheartening. Why won't someone STEP UP AND SAY-- "UNTIL WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WE WILL NOT KNOW WHO WON". PERIOD. We are not talking about chosing who won the Publisher's Clearinghouse award here we're talking about putting into office, the "leader of the free world" damn it (although most of us are certainly questioning the word free).

We have evidence of fraud, we have evidence of massive voter disenfranchisement, we have evidence that millions may not have had their votes count in the way that they intended, we have evidence that this began in 2000 and continued in the past 3 elections, we have evidence that the person currently residing in the White House was illegally given the job and now be illegally given another 4 years and the DNC is "not seeking to overturn the result" and doesn't plan to have the report until the Spring?

I'm moving to the Ukraine. It may be colder there then in Florida and the speak another language that's not Spanish, but at least they've somehow managed to mobilize enough widespread outrage to warrant a re-vote.

I feel better now. Needed a minute to rant...

3. If we really have "evidence" which will stand up in court, do not waste
time and file a lawsuit immediately. Just to caution you, exit polls are not "evidence", since there is no way to determine how skilled the pollers were and whom they asked questions, and whether the voters gave them truthful answers.

In my opinion, a whistleblower programmer would be the only possible way this could lead to something. Everything else is pissing in the wind. Sorry to be so blunt but it is best to be aware of the reality so there will not be another huge heartbreak later.

4. So then what? Not disputing your comments but...
so we now simply hold up our hands in submission and allow our government and our democracy to be hijacked by fascists? Now it's my turn to be blunt but frankly, this is what we are dealing with. Our elected officials are illegally appointed, our media has been taken over by partisan business owners, pharmaceutical companies are controlling our health, social security is being privatized, our environment is being destroyed and-----

There I go again. Ranting. Sorry.

I just keep thinking there must be a way out of this. There are too many of us who KNOW THE TRUTH who are really angry and demanding action.
Guess we'd better pray for the safety and credibiilty of those whistelblowers...

7. I feel just as frustrated as you do, but I don't want to build up false

hopes. You are right about partisan business owners, but I have issues with your other points. I know of many people first hand who are alive only because of the pharmaceutical companies came up with the drugs. We need to reign in the exploding cost of drugs & medical care.

The air and water quality is better now than 20 years ago. And countries which switched to privatized social security (in south America) are doing great with it. And they are talking about privatizing only 1/3 of your current contributions. I would rather have my 11 & 13 year old kids have atleast 1/3 of their taxes in their own account than face a completely insolvent social security which is destined to go bankrupt according to all actuary experts.

But getting to the immediate problem, I hope something pops up to prove if there was massive fraud in the election. So far I have not seen anything that will hold up in a court of law or in public opinion. Thanks for posting and answering my previous post. We definately need to make computer code in all voting machines open for public scrutiny. It should not be hidden under proprietory property nonsense. Feel free to rant at me. Might make you feel better LOL.

8. We do have evidence, and lawsuits are being filed
Edited on Mon Dec-06-04 08:14 PM by meganmonkey
Much of the delay was waiting for the official certification

Cliff Arneback is the man doing the filing. He spoke at the rally in Columbus Saturday afternoon, and at the Symposium that night. Here's a little info about what's been going on...Look for updates this week.

11. Actually exit polls & statistical analysis IS evidence in court everyday
but we have a gathering mountain of evidence, so its not a problem. And Clint Curtis is just the first whistleblower programmer. There are likely to be more.

6. The GLIBs are requesting the recount - McAulliffe is a, well,,,
I'll keep it to myself.
He is talking about 'the party', i.e. the dems, who so far haven;t really stepped up to the plate. I think they are just covering their asses since they have gotten so much shit from DUers and others for bailing after Nov. 3.

The GLIB's and the other groups supporting the recount/revote effort in Ohio are a wholly different animal. While Blackwell has done his best to make the time frame impossible, that will not stop a recount. Will it get Kerry in the WH? Doubtful. Will it potentially expose enough fraud that this issue blows up and we can have faith that our future votes will count? I sure as hell hope so.

Please keep in mind that this is an even bigger picture than getting Kerry in office. THe powers-that-be are trying to perfect the art of fraud. They got pretty sloppy this time around. We have to call them out on it regardless of who is in the WH...

THE FUTURE OF OUR DEMOCRACY DEPENDS ON IT!!!

10. BOOOOO!
They have had 4 long years to correct the voting process. I am sorry but I fault both parties. At least the Ukraine people have more sense than we do.
