Message From Brad --- Affidavit Is Real. Still Need Effort
Brad, I hope you don't mind but when I saw your post in the other thread I felt it important to place in its own thread, to get the message out. I think it is a good one i.e. stop wasting so much time debating the document's authenticity but instead please help researching its details.

this is snipped from BradBlogs post on this thread:

"For those doubters out there (I've been trying to plow through the notes posted here), your skepticism is healthy. If the story is bad, I look forward to finding out about it.

As I said in my original article, I have been trying to find the holes in the story since I came across it. So far, no luck in finding them.

But PLEASE don't get hung up on how the affidavit was scanned (I saw the WORD doc before it was scanned), or names that Curtis used on his website when he didn't want to be sued for libel, etc.

Find out about Curtis, and Feeney and Yang and FDOT and all the other players named in the story. There is much to find out out there. Dig as much as you wish, but don't get hung up on the silly stuff."

36. It was Auto-Scanned that way…

Snip< “When we scanned the docs, it was set on auto-scan, and the last page was in color, so trigged a different setting is all.

I have the originals .”
>End Snip

Without the 'Auto-Scan'!

Sure would appreciate it!

Then we can get into the content!

15. That IS the original PDF!
I saw a copy of the thing in WORD before it was printed or signed yet.

It was then printed, signed, notarized, scanned and emailed to me as four different JPG's (or GIF's, can't remember, not going to look for the moment).

It was then turned into a PDF so it would have all the individual files in one file to make it easier to distribute for you to look at the allegations and investigate the details.

The fact that the apparently purple-pen of the signature triggered it to a higher res, and a color scan is something that annoyed me, because I figured folks might see it as...I don't know...whatever you guys are seeing it as.

It's a sworn affidavit. I don't even understand the suggestion of how the scan types make a difference. Either Curtis swears to it or not.

Other journalists have been interviewing him, and you can further decide about his veracity. But the type-of-scan issue, I guess I just don't get what the concern would be. The pages were scanned this morning (Monday), not in 1961.

Please use your useful skepticism for the *substance* of the story itself to see if you can find holes or additional information (there is lots of it out there).

I will have more tomorrow if I can ever post on my blog again (haven't even been able to get there for more than a minute, if lucky, since publishing this story)

I'm told RawStory.com has more tonight and/or in morning. I know that John Byrne, the managing editor, has now talked with Curtis.

5. Curtis must know he is stirring up a hornet's nest.
Whether he is lying or not, he will be on someone's shit list for sure. Would any sane person lie to expose something of this magnitude? He stated many details that all seem to fit together.

Could he fabricate such a detailed story? Maybe. Is he willing to put his life on the line? Yes.

So, as long as the affidavit is real, I believe him.

12. My thoughts exactly
For heaven's sakes - why would Wayne, Clint and even Brad take such risks? I'm willing to fasten my seat belt (thanks Will Pitt) and wait it out. I can hardly wait till Wednesday.

And thanks for your posting! I agree.

EMPLOYEE MISCONDUCT – REPRESENTATIVE CASE EXAMPLES
Georgalis
This investigation was initiated based on a complaint against Mavis R. Georgalis by
Yang Enterprises, Inc. (YEI), a Florida corporation. YEI provides information
technology services and support under an eight-year (January 20, 1999 to January
20, 2007) and approximately eight million dollar contract for the Department, known
as the Electronic Document Management System contract.
The investigation established that Georgalis received travel reimbursements from
the Department based on false claims for lodging and meals already paid by YEI. It
also disclosed Georgalis engaged in a pattern of misconduct, over several years, by
accepting gifts and other gratuities from YEI. These gratuities included trips with
YEI officials to Biloxi, Mississippi and Las Vegas, Nevada. Georgalis further
created a conflict of interest by accepting gifts from another contractor whom she
regulated. Lastly, it has been documented that Georgalis used her position and
Department resources to seek other employment opportunities.
Summary of Findings/Resulting Actions
Mavis Georgalis resigned her position with the Florida Department of
Transportation on April 1, 2002.
On March 6, 2003 Georgalis was charged with receipt of unlawful
compensation (Section 838.016 F.S.)
Georgalis surrendered to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on March 12,
2003 and is awaiting a court date.

Panel seeks return of worker who quit in DOT controversy
A state human relations panel is going to court to seek the reinstatement of a worker forced to resign from the Florida Department of Transportation in the wake of controversy over a computer contract between DOT and a legal client of House Speaker Tom Feeney. 7/12/02

Restore whistleblower's job
It takes guts to see something going wrong at work, and speak up about it.-- That's why Florida has a tough law meant to protect state employee "whistleblowers" from being fired when they speak out. It's troubling to see state agencies fighting to strip them of that shield.--- Mavis Georgalis was a manager at the state Department of Transportation until April 1. That day, she says, she was pushed by DOT officials into signing a letter of resignation. That happened, she says, because she and another worker filed complaints about the performance of DOT contractor Yang Enterprises. The department has since admitted that some of Yang's invoices were "questionable." 7/22/02

DOT won't reinstate contract manager who accused House Speaker
TALLAHASSEE -- The manager of a computer contract between one of House Speaker Tom Feeney's legal clients and the Florida Department of Transportation is not protected by the state's whistle-blower law and should not be returned to her job, a DOT attorney argued Friday.
Mavis Georgalis, the DOT worker who oversaw an $8 million computer contract with Yang Enterprises of Oviedo, for whom Feeney serves as general counsel, was forced to resign April 1.
Georgalis was one of two DOT workers pushed from their jobs after telling DOT investigators that Yang was submitting fraudulent invoices to the state and that Feeney, R-Oviedo, was improperly using his position to benefit his client.

14. Same here, I'm on the very edge of my seat
It's interesting that another (nameless and unverifiable) source called himself "Brad Menfil"

That looks more and more like it was a plant to create confusion with the reports on Bradblog.

However, the reporting on Bradblog could very well be the real thing.

Wow.

16. Much appreciated IAMREALITY!...

...Would rather be investigating or answering questions about what I know of the story, then trying to keep folks from getting obsessed over the nonsense. Yet it must be done.

Doing it more than a few times though, gets tiring, and I'll encourage anyone who finds something I answered asked again to post a link to my original answer.

I can't hit everything here as I'm sure you'd understand.

18. I would rather know how the concrete was poured, before I build..
a structure upon it. The contents are extremely questionable with such a poor facsimile of the original document.

It truly depreciates the reliability of the contents for discussion until a better replication of the document can be obtained!

Right now it looks like plastic; and, plastic will not hold the stress test required for such strong allegations as are presented in the affidavit.

I really wish someone could obtain a credible copy of the document, other wise I believe that the discussion is merely academic.

:-)

It sounds like "Ghost Busters" without corroboration!
