Regarding newbies and those who insist on "calling them out"
Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 03:10 PM by elad
The DU rules are very clear that you are not allowed to personally attack other members, nor are you allowed to call another member a disruptor. When you point out another member's post count or insinuate that newbies are disruptors, that is exactly what you are doing. You can find the DU rules here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/forums/rules.html#civility

This behavior has been increasingly common on DU, and lately has gotten completely out of control, most notably in this forum, but also in other forums. Therefore, the moderators have been instructed to step-up their enforcement of this rule.

There will not be anymore overlooking of these offenses. We will no longer be letting posts stand that are carefully worded to try not to break the rule, but still have a very clear meaning. People who the moderators find are breaking this rule more than once, or who break it severely, will be issued automatic warnings. If necessary, we will take even more drastic steps to eliminate this behavior.

DU signs up dozens of new members every day, and 95% of them are legitimate, concerned liberals. When we make fun of people because of post count or insinuate newbies are disruptors or tell a newbie their opinion doesn't matter because they only have 50 posts, we drive away the future of DU. This behavior must stop immediately.

If you see someone engaging in this type of personal attack, please hit 'Alert' so the moderators can deal with it. Thank you.
