So What's Up With Rove?

Has he been on vacation?

Guess he is not too worried about all the buzz regarding his stolen election.

He is way too quiet.
All the Republicans are WAY to quiet.

Their usual MO is to hit back fast.
I have not heard a peep.
Did I miss something?

What's Up With The Swift Vote Liars?
Are they getting ready for another Ad Campaign?

He's working hard on some sneaky plot.

Whatever it is.

My thoughts: counter-vote fraud.

It's filling his days.

You can be sure that KKKarl and his minions already have a set of spin points in stock and ready to use if the FRAUD stories get up a real head so steam. Betcha' he's already laying the groundwork to smear Curtis as a tin hatter only out to sell a book.

chuckles about all of the folks on DU whining that the election was stolen. (I went over there last night to see if they had any buzz going) Apparently their mods are active deleting DU related threads and public threads on any of the fraud. They may have private forums debating how to attack and debunk Curtis. I didn't look too hard, being over there makes me feel like :puke: And I can't bring myself to go back. :puke:

11. Their Work Is Done...
Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 10:07 PM by iamjoy
As far as the Swifties are concerned, their goal was to defeat Kerry. In other words - mission accomplished.

As for Rove & the Republicans, the major prominent work is done. They know all this stolen election buzz will just fizzle.

Rove's goal was to establish a permanant Republican majority. Getting Dubya re-elected was the first and most visible step. Their conservative social agenda has already won over many "populists." Now they will finish dismantling the Democratic base. Dubya's policies will complete the job of relegating the Democrats to minority party status for years to come.

First, pro-business policies and outsourcing will finish the destruction of our Labor Unions, all the while making it sound like they are sticking up for the worker ("right to work" - yeah). The Unions won't be able to donate to the Democrats. Next, tort reform. Trial lawyers are the other major contributors to the Democratic party. Take away their revenue, another major funding source for Democrats will wither. Third, the "Houses of Worship Free Speech Act" will allow clergy to directly endorse candidates from the pulpit & maintain tax exempt status. The churches, etc that endorse Republicans will be granted additional money, supposedly for their faith based initiatives (which in practice will promote the Republican Party platform). Finally, the control of the media, allowing greater consolidation and ownership by those friendly to the Repub. agenda. These stations will shape the debate of issues on their terms all the while crying about the liberal media to enrage the "masses."

Rove is doubtless laughing as he watches Democrats scramble to figure out how they were beaten so soundly in this last election. He is waiting for our leadership's next move and he has already prepared responses for several possibilities. He is going to be working behind the scenes to get Bush's agenda enacted.

43. I think you're being optimistic
Your analysis is brilliant, but I think you should take it one step further.

The Rover Boys do not want to make it one party rule, as the Republican party is in danger of splitting into warring internal factions. The fiscal conservatives are on the edge of revolt as it is. The danger then would be a two or even three party system that would once again evolve into a conservative, moderate and liberal philosophies.

I think they are working on a tool-set to control election results with a greater accuracy, or to find a way to marginalize the effect of voting altogether.

I think if we were to search the thousands of pages of the laws that are being rushed though Congress, we would find a patchwork of self-referring laws that grant near-martial powers to the ruling party.

(But I do think your political analysis is brilliant. If only my paranoia had your logistical sense... )

We've been thinking that if the election isn't made right, or if Bush isn't impeached sometime over the next four years, he'll probably declare martial law or something in 2008 and cancel the election. That's why he's lining everybody up -- Congress, the FBI, CIA, his new intelligence czar position that they created today, the courts, the media, the churches. What else does he need? THESE MEN ARE REALLY, REALLY EVIL, Bush AND his brain. I hate them.

29. I think they're laying low for two reasons
1) waiting for the inauguration before doing anything truly radical. (effect is that once-inaugurated the burden on the plaintiff (us) goes up exponentially).
2) bushco doesn't want to begin riling the media up right now with so much potential newsworthyness in a possible stolen election. With a hard right-wing swing before the inauguration the media would find it an even more tempting area of inquiry than the fear generated by veiled threats to pull licenses if they allow discussion of election fraud.

They're so close to pulling it off they must be sweating bullets.

Since the recounts started hitting the press and voter fraud has been spoken by more and more respectable mouths that whole "mandate" thing has quietly gone away. And for a president-elect with a crumbling cabinet, Bush sure has been out of the country a lot. No more uncontrollable press conferences?

After the inauguration, when the cowards feel safe, I think we'll see some fireworks.

39. Keeping the media busy
Controlling the media is straightforward.
To keep them off your case, you simply have to feed them stories.

I cannot help but notice that new documents on Abu-Grabass came out this week... From the administration (from an FOIA request.) It had to come out sometime, but why now?

Timing is everything in politics. Rove and his minions are careful to always feed the hungry lions daily, because if you do not give them a story, they have to go looking for one.
If you can't bury a story, use it to distract. Rove would rather deal with more Abu-Grabass fallout than Election Fraud, and stories like that make the MSM types feel like they're actually doing their job of watching the government.

Watch the stories that are in the news, especially if the source is the admin.
And with every story, ask "Why today?"

They would make sure that dirtbag Rove never slept another peaceful evening in his life.

Let's face it ... the facts are out about Karl. He is slime, and he should be public enemy number one of the democratic party, publically, oficially. The Democratic party needs to get tough again. I find it very difficult to believe that LBJ or Sam Rayburn would have stood around and let Rove emasculate them politically the way he has to the current dem leadership these last 6 years.

It is time to fight fire with fire, there's no longer any choice. The Democratic party still has some clout and a whole lot of fundraising at its disposal. It is high time they stop the bleeding and start inflicting a little damage themselves.

47. I agree. I think they want to keep it as quiet as possible...
...for as long as possible. They are probably waiting for Kerry to make the first move before they counterattack, and I imagine he knows they are. That's another reason he has to stay in the background for as long as possible. I imagine he's waiting for exactly the right moment to make his move, and he knows he'd better have his act together when he does. All the waiting and speculating is frustrating for me too, but I definitely would NOT want to be in John Kerry's shoes right now! He knows he won't get another chance, so he'd better get it right the first time.

55. You can catch...
the devil but you can't hold him long --

I highly recommend the short story 'The Howling Man' by Charles Beaumont -- even though written in the 50's -- it always reminds me of what has happened since the world was introduced to Karl Rove and George W. Bush -- I use to think it was coincidence, now I'm certain it isn't.

My guess is Rove is busy trying to keep this buried behind the scenes -- there's no need to outwardly attack as long as it is at the bottom of the barrel in the news cycle...

The pudgy troll is sitting in his cave -- office No. 666 if you're askin' for directions...his slimy little fingers are all over the media silence...and I know he's not on vacation, because I heard Mfume who resigned from the NAACP last week say that Karl Rove called him... 'to wish him the best'... I just wonder who was behind the NAACP's IRS problem and what prompted Mfume to resign ?-- then Rove the deviant little bastard that he is gets off by calling and pouring a little more salt in the wound... but ya really want to know what really burns me up about the sick lil fuck -- what really makes me mad and *almost* builds to rage when I think about the whole thing -- it's imagining that triple chinned piece of shit -- throwing his head back and laughing at us -- laughing at us -- laughing at us...

That's the way I feel -- I'm so angry and I feel really small -- in my opinion Bush will end up killing more innocent American's(and maybe he already has) then Osama bin Laden could wish for in a lifetime...

hurts like brand new shoes... I tell ya.

his troops covering up the fraud, from the precincts and the stuffed ballot boxes, to the central tabulators.

Rove will make sure he's got all his ducks lined up in a row, and the media ready to "blow the story wide open" on something that will distract the teevee viewing masses from election fraud "conspiracy theories", and "unpatriotic liberals". You know.... same shit, different day.

This is an EVIL EVIL EVIL mafia we have running the former "free world". They are all sociopaths .... they have no values, no conscience, no sense of decency.

I only wish the now-scorned CIA and FBI people would help the rest of us get this mafia out of our government, and in prison, where they belong!!

O8) I pray something brings down this mafia SOON!! O8)

61. Brace yourselves for net postings of bogus "tabulation sheets"...
...from suspect Ohio counties.

(He may even have them posted here on DU as a "smoking gun" on the election fraud issue).

The tabulation sheets or tapes will be demonstrably forged ...a' la' the TANG/ CBS documents.

Spurred on by "research" from Drudge/ FR, the MSM will then run with the story of "Vote Recount Activists Forge Documents" and put the 2004 voter fraud story to bed once and for all.

!Semper vigilo!

65. Busier than they will admit I imagine
Since the activists have been buzzing like hornets around ALL those dirty dignitaries and multiple strategies. Harmless or not the stings are keeping him busy keeping his troops in order and the media silent. Then too the famous Bush agenda is supposed to be steamrolling.

They could have expected n easier time on the powder keg electoral front. They aren't getting it and are sitting tight until the verdict is sealed.
That isn't the pose of an authentic winner exactly, is it?

67. Actually
I like to keep an eye on them just to see if they flinch. The chimpster sure doesn't look good and Rumsfeld, as always, says a little too much (with O'Reilly he danced around the question of where Bin Laden so clumbsily it was obvious that they do.) Nothing I've seen about Rove, though, makes me think, he thinks he's in trouble. And recently in a British paper, they announced he had taken on the most difficult job in the world, running the Conservative Party's candidate for Prime Minister. (After all, Tony Blair is a traitor to George Bush--he actually murmured something positive about Kerry. Die, Tony, die.
