The complaint alleged that Sean O'Keefe, the Administrator of NASA; Space Gateway Support, LLC, a NASA contractor; and Yang Enterprises, Inc., a NASA subcontractor, unlawfully used federal property and funds for campaign activities on behalf of Tom Feeney, a candidate in Florida 's 24 th Congressional District in 2002. The Commission either dismissed or found no reason to believe in this matter.

*There are four administrative stages to the FEC enforcement process:

It requires the votes of at least four of the six Commissioners to take any action. The FEC can close a case at any point after reviewing a complaint. If a violation is found and conciliation cannot be reached, then the FEC can institute a civil court action against a respondent.

Is it Wang, Yang or Wong and why is the same guy using different company names? What proof do I have that this guy's dog died?

And how come I asked these questions last night (except for the dog issue) and I can't get any answers???

As far as who is Chris R. Hunt, he is the guy that signed the complaint filed with the FEC that was filed on Oct 31, 2002. He is (was) the president of the Local Chapter of the AFL-CIO - TWU Local 525.

I'm not smart enough to figure out what the legalese of this lawsuit means. But I am still at a loss as to my other questions. This isn't necessarily directed at you, but rather anyone else that can help defend this scenario against Freeper attacks.

Besides the ones I asked earlier, how does reiterating that Feeney has ties to NASA, Bush's lawyer and is a piece of shit when it comes to election law show that he helped hack the vote?

...The (Florida Ethics) Commission dismissed a complaint accusing House Speaker Tom Feeney of wielding his influence to help a legal client in an $8-million contract dispute with a state agency.

The complaint accused Feeney, R-Oviedo, of using his influence to help Yang Enterprises in a dispute with the Florida Department of Transportation.

A staff report found nothing to indicate Feeney violated a law that prevents elected officials from using or attempting to use their official positions to secure a special privilege, benefit or exemption for themselves or others.

Feeney Responds to Mr. Tom Visconti

Dear Mr. Visconti:
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the recent article in the Daytona News Beach Journal regarding a long time law client and twenty-year friends . Yang Enterprises ("Y.E.") is a renowned technology firm with the highest level of clearance at NASA and great credibility and respect in our community. Based on their tradition of providing exemplary service, Y.E. was awarded a technology contract with the Department of Transportation ("D.O.T.").

In Sunday's Daytona News Beach Journal, Clint Curtis, a disgruntled former Y.E. employee raised questions relating to that contract. Mr. Curtis terminated his employment with Y.E. under negative circumstances and court documents suggest he misrepresented himself to get hired, lied to his employers regularly, and was previously successfully sued for copyright infringement after claiming ownership of a computer program of another former employer. In addition, during the course of this investigation, the DOT Office of Inspector General investigated Mr. Curtis, and as a result of that investigation, Mr. Curtis is no longer employed by DOT.

Perhaps as an act of retaliation towards Y.E., Mr. Curtis made wild and unsubstantiated accusations regarding his former employers. He contended, with no factual basis and no rational explanation that Y.E. was over-billing the DOT. This allegation makes little sense. The eight-year contract negotiated between Y.E. and the DOT has a spending cap that cannot be exceeded, therefore, making it fiscally futile to over-bill for more funding.

I would suggest that in order to raise the profile of his allegations, Mr. Curtis without factual basis, alleged conflicting interests in my role as long time legal counsel to Y.E. and my role as House Speaker. On the absolute contrary, I took the highest ethical ground and removed myself from any direct involvement with DOT leaders.

In regards to providing legal counsel, my law firm contracted out the legal defense of Y.E. to a Miami firm that specializes in intellectual property theft law. In regards to representing themselves to DOT, Y.E. appropriately hired a registered professional lobbying association. There was nothing remotely inappropriate or conflicting in the way that I ensured that Y.E. was represented by the best legal and governmental defense teams possible.

It is sometimes surprising to me how recklessly accusations can be made with no factual standing and few repercussions for blatant disregard for the truth. Sadly, that is one of the unavoidable consequences of being a public figure.

I am proud to serve in Florida's Legislature, and I work diligently to represent the citizens that elected me to serve. I also am pleased that we are a citizen legislature, allowing elected officials to remain working members of society in addition to our roles as public servants.

I suppose Mr. Curtis has a valid argument if his complaint is that I am an effective legislator and an effective professional. I fully contest however, his assessment that I wrongly pressured any state agency to help Y.E. procure a contract or get unfair gain. It just isn't true.

In fact, I insisted that a professional lobbyist handle all negotiations with DOT, and another law firm lead the cases against DOT employees who misappropriated software from YE, and now make wild accusations as their only defense.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Harry Jacobs is amused to hear people refer to the 24th Congressional District as "the Feeney seat."

One of two new seats in Florida, it was designed for House Speaker Tom Feeney, the ambitious Republican from the Orlando suburbs......

Much of the campaign has focused on Feeney's ethics.

One Jacobs ad attacked him for supporting a bill that would have raised local phone rates. Another ad criticizes Feeney's ethics because of his relationship with Yang Enterprises, an Oviedo company that received an $8-million state contract......

Feeney, 44, a curly-haired real estate lawyer who has served in the Legislature since 1990, has said he did nothing wrong with Yang and that the bill was an effort to deregulate phone rates. .....

Feeney has criticized Jacobs for suing after the 2000 presidential election to prevent thousands of absentee ballots in Seminole County from being counted. Jacobs maintained that Republicans broke the law with the ballots, but Feeney says Jacobs was trying to disenfranchise voters.
