3. A well-reasoned response Brad. Nice. You're spot on. I think
this thing I've heard about "well how did they get his program onto the machines" would just have me ROtFLMAO if it weren't being made by serious people. Don't these folks read for heavens sakes? Curtis never claimed to have implemented the idea on a particular machine people! He just provided a proof of concept! Doh! It would be OTHER PEOPLE who have yet to be identified actually implemented this or other clever ideas and engineered and integrated them for specific machines. Come on people, get a grip!

I guess its just the natural desire to have discovered the silver bullet from the smoking gun and the theory of everything that wraps it all together with a nice little bow that drives people to think this way.

Do you know if Clint reported the shooting of his dog to the police.

If so did he get a copy of the police report?

It might seem trivial or even insensitive to ask however for me this story took an even further leap into tin foil land after you reported his dog had been shot with nothing more than hearsay from Clint.

I'd like to believe this and many other stories like it but I'd need to see some evidence other than Clint's word. Affidavit and all its still his word against the world.

Thank you for taking the time to post here on DU and I look forward to a reply.

10. Curtis only worked on the prototype a few days? Is that correct?
How much time did the other guys have?

6. Curtis' claims valid - Madsen might be valid - is the take away

And the Rove classic we all know to watch for:

"I'd hate to see a potentially "good" story get overlooked because of bad or unsupported information that may gotten attached to it by others -- or see the original story become misinterpreted because of it."

Right On!!!!

:-)

7. This whole thing has me perplexed.
No, not the issue about the silver bullet, but the part about the antiBushies sharpening up their elbows and sniping at each other when there are much bigger fish to fry. Who gives a rat's ass who knew what first? Have folks lost sight of the infinitely more important goal of exposing the felonious Bush Administration? Just checking.

8. lol. I agree
What it looks like to me is the real fraud is being investigated by the REAL investigators and investigative journalists.

They are all working quietly and professionally dotting their I's and crossing their T's.

IE Greg Palast. Does anyone thing he is vacationing in the Bahamas?

What it looks like to me is wannabes and hacks trying to make names for themselves by beating people to the punch and hoping some of the dirt thrown sticks.

Has Madsen EVER broken a REAL story on his own or in part?

By real story I mean one that has resulted in any charges or policy changes or dismissals?

What I want to know is how Bev has this much time to debunk someone else's theory?

And why did she bother.

Who cares what other theories are out there if you can and want to prove yours.

IMHO Bev spends her time here watching for people messing with her revenue stream.

Can anyone come up with another reason Bev would waste her time on a story she sees no merit in?

11. Regarding Bev Harris and other things.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 07:54 AM by The Backlash Cometh
If you take a movie like "The Raiders of the Lost Arc," and put it in real life, there wouldn't be just one Harrison Ford, one Indiana Jones. It would take a multitude of people working different angles, stealing ideas from one another, corroborating at other times and definitely, discrediting each other right before they get to the finish line. (Well, that last bit I added for dramatic flair.)

Anyway, the point I'm making is that we're not going to get to the truth in a linear fashion. The search for the truth is a meandering river all the way to a fertile delta.

So I liked the way Brad made respectful comments about Bev Harris before disagreeing with some of her points. And that's how we, who are on the same side, should talk to one another.

It's a very well written article, so far. I've only gotten to the Keith Olberman part and I found it interesting that the Brad blog also seemed to take issue with Keith on dismissing Madsen without talking to him directly. Bev seemed to have the same thing happen to her, but, perhaps could have handled it better. I'm inclined to believe there is a communication problem with MSNBC and I'm sure if Keith were to get personally involved with how his people communicate with others, that it will be corrected quickly.

9. I don't know why Bev is taking the time to discredit Madsen's story...
Isn't she busy enough?
