urging DNC, Kerry campaign, etcetc to join us

Black vote suppressed through the 1960s, still is, with the types of disenfranchisement we have in this election....

Just NAILING them on partisan, privatized voting equipment

Laying out all types of "irregularities"...US democracy "bragging rights" moot when people don't stand up for fair transparent elections here

Must not allow the flame of liberty to go out...not crying for lost election, crying for a fair one

..."NOW" word, with this election and it's remedy.

Get that done. Then we can have a meaningful discussion about reform and the future.

Don't get it done and we've just written a Constitutional crisis, unresolved, as the final chapter in the american franchise of democracy.

Peace.

70. Rev. William Moss from Columbus, Ohio
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 11:28 AM by Straight Shooter
"based on nefarious activity on part of public officials, that day, too, in Ohio (Nov 2) will live in infamy."

Explaining his experience of voting. He's been elected 5 times to Columbus Board of Education. Wife is a judge.

Unprecedented long lines, decided to come back later at 3:00, lines were even longer than in the morning. Determined to vote. He and wife stood in line from 3 to 6:30. Never experienced or witnessed such as on Nov. 2 in attempt to vote. He and wife decided to bring a lawsuit, to be lead plaintiffs in a lawsuit (applause now). Assured by Fritakis it will be filed tomorrow. Believes that in the words of Lincoln, important principles must be inflexible. Moral obligation, providential duty. The world views with contempt and disgust the last two presidential elections in United States. World cannot stand against our military might. We are bound in duty, in conscience and in justice to take a stand against what shatters our credibility in the world community.

We will seek simple justice for the nation. Will petition against Blackwell (conflict of ethics) who intimidated, disenfranchised, suppressed the vote.

What a great witness.

Wow, this I didn't know.
As long as there is a recount, the electors cannot meet. This is according to John Bonifaz.

Quoting Ghandi at the end:

79. Current speaker, co-counsel for Greens and Libs (John Bonifaz)
Explaining obstacles and stonewalling by Ohio (Blackwell).

Lawsuit filed against them seeking to stop recount, claiming too expensive.

"Blackwell actively engaged in thwarting recount. ... Blackwell intentionally allowed no time for recount ..."

Mentioning again Blackwell's role in bush/cheney campaign. "He should be stopped." (applause)

"We have a message for Blackwell, in the name of democracy, the right to vote, the Constitution, let the recount proceed to its completion prior to the casting of Ohio's electoral college votes. ... In a democracy, votes must count. We will have a recount in Ohio."

Talking about electors from Ohio, one slate from Blackwell, one slate from the will of the people.

Oh, the great quote from Gandhi. Then he says, "They're no longer ignoring us, no longer laughing at us, they're fighting us, and we're going to win." Major applause. Excellent.

Cuyahoga County, registrations dropped in 2004 compared to 2000, despite extensive drive.

(Paraphrasing her)

Purging of voter registration. Wants analysis of purging. No purging in Franklin County.

Wants analysis of election equipment. Variance in electronic, optical scan, punch card equipment.

Out of date voting registration material. Were students counted who filled out those materials?

Addressing long lines. Student areas had very, very long lines. 6 to 7 hours. Longest 10 hours.

Suppressing conducted through wrong info, giving hard time to volunteers. Very rainy day, standing in the rain for 4 hours.

Half of the viewers are now in love :) She is gorgeous.

Referring to Armageddon Election.

Previous spectators now inspired to be part of the process. Questioning is our process free and fair, as Constitution guarantees.

Says Zogby received thousands of letters and phone calls, referring to exit polls, questionable practices at polling stations, and in Ohio the Diebold machines were particularly disturbing.

Damn, "intention not to contest the election results."

Recommending a blue ribbon panel to investigate the election.

Mentions platitude, "much needed healing" in America.

Clearly outlined the horrendous circumstances of voting experienced by his colleagues.

Long lines, rain, then hot indoors. Headaches, claustrophobia, anger, election results (supposedly bush win) trickling in, people stayed in line, determined to vote despite discouraging reports from media.

He did very, very well.

117. Jesse Jackson, Jr. ROCKS!
If we can amend Constitution for right to display 10 Commandments, we can amend to assure right of Americans to vote.

Talking about next election will also have horrors unless this fixed. This nation's voting is separate but unequal.

How can we vote for right to vote in Afghanistan and Iraq, when Americans don't have that explicit right to vote in our Constitution, that it's only "construed"?

Talking about overturning results in Ohio, what is or is not allowed. Is there a federal remedy to the anomolies in Ohio?
