Poll: Fla. Voters Had No Voting Problems

By BRENT KALLESTAD, Associated Press Writer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Most Florida voters had no problem casting a ballot on Election Day and many say they are confident their vote was counted correctly, a poll shows.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041208/ap_on_el_pr/florida_voters_poll&cid=694&ncid=1963&sid=96378798

Interesting how only 58% of Dems polled are very or somewhat confident in the result of the election (95% of Reps). So how can they say "Fla. voters had no voting problems?" This is a blatantly misleading headline.

I want to thank the "liberal" media for covering the voting problems so well and informing the people of the real problems <sarcasm>.

I would put money down that if people knew even 1% of what we know on this forum that poll would find some very different #'s.

Edit: Changed subject title.

1. You're right.
Of course most Republican voters had no trouble getting their franchise protected.

2. ridiculous spin
starting with the headline, which suggests 100% perfection, which the numbers don't support.

Then the framing of the results, "more than 9 in 10 people said they had no problems..." could equally be phrased "almost 1 in 10 people said they had problems..."

Also, why is "waiting in long lines" shoved aside as irrelevant? That's one of the major causes of unequal disenfranchisement.

6. here's the email address to dis this story:
feedback@ap.org

Let AP know how full of sh** they are in this article.

They give us these "facts" (from a poll of 1000 people):

He said 95 percent of the Republicans quizzed said they were very or somewhat confident in the result, compared with only 58 percent of Democrats. President Bush (news - web sites) carried the state with 52 percent of the vote over Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites).

This is stated under this headline:
Poll: Fla. Voters Had No Voting Problems

9. Who did the study. Yahoo story provides a link to Quinnipiac Univ in CT
The site must be bombarded right now, as I can't get it to fully load to get more info. Was this a student-run study, done by a university nobody has ever heard of, I wonder?

Here is the address provided on Yahoo:
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/

I want to see the questions and the full information on who did the study and the results.

10. Didn't SCOTUS judges also became very popular after 2000?
For the first time in history that was polled - and surprise: we loved them. We really, really, loved them. Polls!

11. THE DEM RESPONSE INDICATES HOW THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN.
AP has just convicted Bush.

Of course, no one who voted Repub had a problem on a touchscreen.

But what if 5% of Dem votes were changed from Kerry to Bush?
That may not seem like much, but...

THAT'S ENOUGH TO STEAL AN ELECTION.

SO MUCH FOR THE AP POLL
