The Republican response is always about wasting the taxpayers money. They can think of a thousand different ways to increase the deficit, but when it comes to ensuring democracy...well, that just costs too, too much!

However we know if the Republicans can at least "muddy" the argument to the point that it's a draw (as demonstrated in that movie Outfoxed), maybe again this time with "they want to recount until they win", it's like a win for them.

joining the call for a recount in OH. We should send this thread to all those on DU who keep asking why Kerry doesn't get more involved. Even with Kerry's fairly low-key involvement, this is what we get: snarky comments from Novak in the msm. Can you imagine the outcry if Kerry became more visibly involved? Kerry has taken the right approach.

And GO Sharpton! He is great! Now he's challenging the rightwing folks by saying that they are looking for a theocracy! Whew!

33. I think the reason we haven't heard more "sore loser" is Kerry's wisdom in
not making a lot of noise about all this. If he had, we wouldn't have gotten as far as we have with the effort to reform the voting process. All these efforts would have been drowned out by all the conservatives screaming, "sore loser" at Kerry.

It is up to us, as it should be, in a democracy.

40. RIGHT ON WORDIE!!
If Kerry was out front running this investigation, he would have never gotten as far as we have NOW. Kerry is intelligent, thus knows that by being out of the fire, keeps the investigation NON political,as they always say, this isn't about Kerry or Bush, its about Democracy and an honest election. I agree that it should be called ELECTIONGATE...the voters went honestly to place their vote, and the BushCo Bunch...hijacked the election...It's ELECTIONGATE!!
If this election turns to Kerry, he then can bring the Country together, as he wasn't part of the original investigation.into the election fraud! Just my 2 cents.

46. Yep, this way, the Repubs have no legitimate way to criticize, because we
can always say, "You mean you DON'T want to count the votes?" Otherwise, if Kerry had gotten involved, it would be seen as purely partisan. And, much as I wanted Kerry to win, its about more than Kerry.

47. Yep, Kerry Knows that would happen!
It is a stategic move on Kerry and the DNC. I think they knew right from the beginning that electiongate was a possibility! If all of us were aware, I believe they were way ahead of us. That is why ALL the attorneys were on site of the Ohio and Florida Counties in question. Including MM, as Conyers made a remark today, stating "Are we going to wait for MM to make a film of the inconsistancies, or do something NOW"!!! I thought that was telling..

I ticked off "positive" when asked what kind of comment I was writing, then wrote this:

Ok, I tricked you. I have a positive comment, first: You need to have more folks like Rev. Sharpton, who are willing to speak the truth to flaming jerks like Novack, on your show. And having mentioned Novack, why isn't he in jail yet? Don't start crying about journalistic freedom. His participation in the Plamme case was shameful and criminal. He has lost any moral credibility he might once have had. Fire him, please. Maybe Rev. Sharpton can take his place. And please keep covering the electoral fraud in Ohio, Florida, and all those other states, including the Urkaine.
