Russian Election Techs/programmers Working for Enron in Houston
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 06:26 PM by jamboi
Info on Russian election techs/prog. working 4 Enron in Houston?

Here's a consolidation of a previous thread, semi-organized to make it easier to read:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x98798#98906

Madsen asks if anyone has any info or leads on "election techs/ programmers (who) were illegal Russian nationals working here or if they are Russian Green Card holders in the US, if they ever worked for Enron in Houston.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
WHY THIS MIGHT MAKE SENSE:
18. Factoid: largest employer of Russian expat computer programmers in Houston

Hmmm... Good place to recruit.

21. Wouldn't be surprised, but no evidence

The Russian community in Houston and Dallas is large--large enough to have a sort of (conservative) newspaper that comes out every couple of weeks. ("Our Texas", Nash Tekhas).

4. Enron's demise threw many expats out of work

Out of work can mean out of country (including Russian expats)
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/business/1162350

1. Incentive for Russian expat programmers in US

As one company CEO reports:
"They're working very hard, and they're making the equivalent of six times what an average Russian programmer makes," (the CEO) says, adding that a windfall for them is roughly one-fifth of what their U.S. counterparts would earn for the same work. (The Russian programmers also receive housing and a small piece of the company.)"

Another quote found on the web.:
"...A Russian programmer charges 80% less than an American..."

and a russian programmer reports:
"Recently the things became worse. Now there are not too many customers in the rich world who want to outsource anything to us. Do not think that IT crysis affects only US programmers! We are all in the same boat. The IT wages here go down proportionally as the economy collapses."

CORPORATE CONNECTIONS

25. Enron/CIA article/Bushes
http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/ultAgent.html

Consider the company's leadership:

Enron CEO Kenneth Lay was a Pentagon official during the Vietnam War, and a friend of the Bush family for decades. Frank Wisner Jr., a board member of the subsidiary Enron Oil & Gas, has intimate CIA ties, and is the son of former CIA deputy Director.Frank Wisner Sr., who was present at the creation of the CIA.

Osama bin Laden's family business, the Saudi Binladin Group, is a major construction company. Saudi Binladin Group was an investor of the Carlyle Group. Carlyle's directors include George H.W. Bush, and James Baker. George W. Bush's firm Arbusto Energy was funded by an investment from Texas investment banker James Bath, who was also the investment counselor for the bin Laden family. Bath had connections to the CIA, and was involved with the Iran-Contra, savings and loan, and BCCI scandals.

One of Saudi Binladen's joint venture partners is H.C. Price Company.

H.C. Price is a major builder of pipelines, and is involved in large projects, including two projects for Enron: the Florida Gas Pipeline and the Northern Border Pipeline running from the US/Canadian border from Montana to Illinois.

7. Enron political corruption & Bush ties

http://weblog.siliconvalley.com/column/dangillmor/archives/2001_12.shtml

These guys make Microsoft look honest.

When the Enron scandal is finally unraveled, you can bet that politics will be one of the biggest parts. That is, if Congress cares enough to actually investigate.

That's not a given. Enron cultivated and funded George W. Bush for years, and handed the green stuff to Republicans generally. Now they're pouring the dough into the Democrats' pockets.

Washington is getting back to normal, apparently. Legal bribery, in the form of campaign "contributions," is making news again.

Georgia is one possible route for an oil and gas pipeline from the Caspian Sea and the Central Asian Republics to western Europe. This is a project dear to the hearts of oil and gas corporations, the real motive for the flattery that rained down on Shevardnadze.

<snip>

George W. Bush was governor of Texas while these celebrations gushed forth. Some of the Lay-Bush correspondence during those years has just been released in Austin. In one April 1997 letter, Lay reminds Bush of a scheduled reception at the governor’s mansion for a dignitary from Uzbekistan.

Lay noted that Enron has just signed a $2 billion deal to develop and transport natural gas in Uzbekistan. “I know you and Ambassador Safaev will have a productive meeting which will result in a friendship between Texas and Uzbekistan,” said Lay’s note.

Two years later, Lay wrote asking Gov. Bush to meet with the prime minister of Romania during his visit to Houston. Lay noted that Enron had recently finalized a joint venture to market natural gas in Romania with its rich Ploesti oil fields

There's 15 of them all together in the above link..some just chit-chat, others are "Kenny-boy" writing to chimp when he was gov..about different bills in the TX legislature---and then the letter about Russia.

Diebold Internal Memos Admit Voting Machine Flaws

"According to Harris, this means that only three people in the world know what's in the Diebold software code used to run several elections, particularly in California. Two of these individuals are Canadian and one is a Russian living in Canada. Their names: Ken Clark, Talbot Iredale (a stockholder), and Dmitry Papushin."

Think it's related to Madsen's article? We need to dig up more info on these Diebold people who were lurking around CA precincts during the 2002 election, like in San Luis Obispo. This was all hashed through about a year ago on www.blackboxvoting.org and on DU. Anyone with links? Eloriel? - I know you bookmark like mad....

I'm still VERY skeptical of this story, and this addition did not help. Still, it would be such a huge story, it's worth it to be on the crest of the wave.....

20. Piotr Blass.

I don't know how much credence Madsen gives the Jeff Fisher stuff, but something to be worthy of note is that a key figure in Jeff's stuff is Piotr Blass, who is Russian (or close to.)

Check the BBV dcforums for links to Blass's resume. Just be careful. There are some strange creatures lurking in them thar forums drawing all sorts of completely illogical connections.

(Most of the people there are just fine.)

And when you do find his resume, get a load of that hair!

When I saw that the the guy running the parent company of "Rouge Wave Software" was "Harvey A. Wagner" and then googled him to find out he used to run the finances for Mirant before it went chapter 11 I kinda thought that seemed funny.

3. Just as an aside, it has always seemed suspicious to me that
Poppy (G.H.W.*) was friends with a George de Morenschildt, a Russian in the Dallas community who "befriended" Lee Harvey Oswald.

I guess it seems that the monstrosity of this cabal is soooo huge when I think about it and look at a post like yours that it is easy to say, well just forget about it!

I mean if the Russian community in Texas has been in cohoots with the CIA for years, then contacts in the computer industry would be very easy to have, and recruiting them for the Bushies seems like it could be so easy, especially if there is a much larger entity at work.

4. Knowing what we know NOW....
Let's all have a good belly laugh at Diebold's attempt at defending itself back in 2003 from a report that tried to point out the flaws in their system...I'll start the translation:

http://www.diebold.com/followupstatement.pdf

1> ''They have a lot of ‘what ifs’ in their report,'' said Michael Barnes, assistant director of elections for the State of Georgia. ''I was disappointed in the report because the way they tested the system is completely out of context with how the system is used.''

Translation: They didn't use it in our corrupt system that is meant to cover up our illegal software.

----------------------------------------------------------------
2> "Failed to realize that election officials at the federal and state levels subjected the entire system to extensive and rigorous tests".

Translation: see http://safevoting.org/

Watch the video clip of the clueless group of officials in Texas taking Diebold's word on stuff instead of challenging them:

A group of examiners reviews voting systems, and makes certification recommendations to the Secretary of State. You might think that these examiners would conduct a comprehensive testing process, assessing the voting machines against a set of detailed critieria and discussing the underlying code. But there was nothing on the videotapes that resembled a testing process. The examiners didn't start with a set of criteria to test against.
-------------------------------------------

3> "Failed to recognize that both federal and state election training procedures are designed to ensure the integrity of elections, regardless of the voting technology employed"

Translation:
We'll have our tech imposters at the voting booths on Nov 2nd making sure no one interferes with our rigged software

7. Good questions all. I've asked about another Q&A here, the 5th article,
etc. but haven't gotten a response to those specific questions yet. He's given some research information, but hasn't clued me into exactly who he's talking to except the info I posted previously, and I hadn't really asked. I'll ask.

6. Oliver Buck Revell and Imagis, Inc.???
Edited on Wed Dec-08-04 06:59 PM by jamboi
When Madsen did a Q&A on DU 11/28 he gave this puzzling response:

"Q: 1) it's so highly improbable from a logistics standpoint, based on your description and (2) it's not necessary -- those systems are riggable from inside AND via modem (or wireless) in real time. It's just not necessary. Why would they dream up a stunt like this, with all its potential for discovery, leaks, etc., when it's just NOT necessary?

"A: The Bushes seldom deviate from their m.o., which is to use pass throughs, shell companies, and large amounts of money to get what they want. Yes, there is a lead on gaining access through modems. But that is where I have to be careful. The name I have connected with that is well known and he has sued journalists in the past for libel."

Look at the last line--- "The name I have connected with that is well known and he has sued journalists in the past for libel."

At the time I posted immediately and noted that was a big hint and if we put two and two together we might be able to figure out who Madsen was thinking of. I think I might have figured it out:
Google for Oliver Buck Revell and Imagis, Inc.

I did, and here's something I found:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2002/11/14/BU186722.DTL&type=business

Or how about:
http://www.bespacific.com/mt/archives/cat_free_speech.html

Or how about:
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/5260/latest21.html

There's a lot out there on this guy. He played a role in the JFK investigation, allegedly an operational role Bush Sr's Contragate, is buddies with Oliver North, rose to Assistant Director of the FBI and is wrapped in tons' o controversy. He now is Chairman of the board of Imagis software (does facial recognition software used in surveillance industry) which is based in Vancouver Canada. He is involved in lots o litigation against journalists. How he might be involved in Votergate specifically I don't know, but I think he might be the individual Madsen was hinting at above.

24. Accenture 2001

Accenture and election.com Announce Alliance to Market Services and Solutions to Modernize Election System

Washington, D.C., February 5, 2001 – Accenture and election.com, the leading global election software and services company, today announced an alliance to jointly deliver comprehensive election solutions to governments worldwide. Under the agreement, the companies will combine their strengths and experience in the development of election software and the use of technology to offer governments new efficiencies

snip

As part of the firm's growing eDemocracy program, Accenture recently introduced a suite of transition services designed to aid presidents, governors, and other newly elected or appointed government executives. These services help new officials meet the challenges presented in the short time that exists between the election and taking office to fill key management positions, establish management structures, communicate their progress to the public and set policy. Moreover, last July, Accenture helped the Republican Host Committee in Philadelphia create the first eConvention, bringing gavel-to-gavel proceedings via the Internet to the homes and offices of dot-com delegates.

25. Halco 21
Executive Summary
Halliburton set out on a bold mission to build a global and seamless organization from among its hundreds of subsidiaries. The company partnered with Accenture to help it transform from decentralized operation to a globally managed entity.

snip

“Our goal was to become a lean, nimble organization that could provide seamless solutions to our customers,” says Halliburton executive vice president Gary Morris. “An integrated strategy would differentiate us from competitors and position us to capture greater market share.” Halliburton’s leaders called their vision Halco 21.

snip

In such an ambitious initiative, missteps would prove costly. The Halliburton team knew they needed additional skills to achieve their goal. They quickly decided to partner with Accenture to embark on the journey. At the time, close to 100 Halliburton employees had already transitioned to Accenture in an outsourcing arrangement with Halliburton Energy Services (HES), the company’s largest division. Accenture was handling applications management for HES. The first year of the outsourcing contract proved highly successful, with a $1.4 million reduction in application support costs. Over the next two years, service levels were maintained and costs decreased another $4.3 million.

26. Wonder what was REALLY taking place on Enron's "fake trading floor"

http://www.click2houston.com/news/1248368/detail.html

Report: Enron Designed Fake Trading Floor
Former Employee Claims No Trades Transpired

HOUSTON -- The bankrupt energy giant, Enron Corp., designed and maintained a fake trading floor at its Houston office.

According to former Enron employees, on the sixth floor of the company's downtown headquarters was a set, designed to trick analysts into believing business was booming.

"It was an elaborate Hollywood production that we went through every year when the analysts were going to be there to be impress them to make our stock go up," former employee Carol Elkin said...

Elkin said that it was all an act, and that no trades were actually made there. The people on the phones were talking to each other.

************
WHAT IF the fake trading activity was actually a cover-up for the REAL purpose of this room--election-rigging activities?

**Unique Solutions, Inc., 954-747-1919. This is a jewelry business owned by Beth Katz, the wife of Peter KAtz, above. Unique solutions has some connections that when googled produce some puzzling results (although it seems some have been cleaned up now). There is also this: Unique Solutions Main Office Computer 954-486-5500 3343 W Commercial Blvd Fort Lauderdale FL 33309 (Sunrise Florida is in Ft Lauderdale area.
