We need to fight even harder, we are all we got
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 04:09 AM by Stop Shrub
Twice today i have burst into tears thinking about what is going on in our own country and over in Iraq. (I am a 22 year male college student who hasn't cried since I was 13 and0 my grandmother had just passed away).

I am not sure why I became so emotional today, I have no friends or family over there, there was no trigger. Actually, I do know why i cried, its because i feel helpless and shamed that i have let the most beautiful document in the history of man, The US Constitution be bastardized.

The checks and balances that our fore fathers put forth have finally failed, our Legislative branch, our Executive branch, our courts, and even the fourth unofficial check the Media have become a capitalistic self serving symbol of wealth and greed.

But coming to these boards I am reminded our fore fathers knew that if we were to ever loose the integrity of these institutions we had the most powerful tool at our disposal. US

I have had a faith throughout this whole thing that justice will be served and that the right people will step in at the right time and save the country.

I now realize that we are the only hope, we are the right people at the right time and we have to keep pushing forward.

We have done so much here already and I sincerely thank all of you, however we are realistically far from victory. We must weather this storm and prevail we simply do not have a choice.

Keep up the good work and thank you all, this message board will go down in history as being the catalyst for exposing the truth and saving this country, I wont stop until that statement is true and I know none of you will either.

I am 23 male college student. I have emotional outbursts twice a day. I don't cry but I shout. We all have our own ways of dealing with things. The thing is they get more and more frequent, not less like everyone thought they would...

The only solution is to keep fighting until we succeed.

Bushco will go down..if we can't turn the election, he has broken enough laws that he has to fall. He's rubbed too many cats the wrong way.

This old gramma won't quit on you.

edited for ps.

3. the loss of a country
...this message board will go down in history as being the catalyst for exposing the truth...

I believe you are right about that.

Also, the loss of a country is a terrible thing and triggers many emotions of distress. All of us here have been through it and you're not alone. I never, ever in a million years thought I would have to live through something like this. It is very painful to see our country destroyed, bankrupt, held hostage to a gang of thieves who are stripping us of our jobs, our treasury, our environment, our retirement.

It's even more painful seeing half the population eagerly support it.

But where is it guaranteed that we alone are immune from political strife?

4. Well you know what?
Fighting means that you actually do something. You write letters, you send e-mails, you think of actions, you organize rallies. When you DO something, something might get done. And you won't have time to sit around and cry and feel fearful. I'm helping to organize in my state for the 51capitalmarch. Anyone else working on rallies or activism in their local area? We need to work on local efforts, pulling the local groups together, working to get exposure and widen our reach. We need to get on the streets with flyers. We need to BE THE MEDIA. Nothing will change unless we MAKE it change. Is that clear?

6. clear but unnescesary...
i understand this, that is why I'm here and i think thats why everyone is here. I'm informing myself and locally organizing what i can, my post was simply to let everyone know that this is how i feel and that every time i am down i eventually remember it is my duty to my own belief system that i stand up and fight along side of you. Please continue to organize and help me and everyone else here. I was just trying to relate a rough day i had because i figure a lot of us are going through the same thing.

5. fight and fear
It is growing clearer that words wont solve this alone, and it makes me scared too, but I am ready to stand and fight.. since I dont want to kill to defend democracy, I will march! Consider yourselves all drafted. Drafted to the army of truth and democracy, to protest and march and put our bodies and lives at risk, but they are at risk already, and thats the fact we all realize now... all troops experience some jitters before a battle, it natural, but we are many.. and there is strength in our numbers. We just need enough people with courge to go out of thier homes and lead the charge! I fear what will come from my actions, but I fear the course of my inactions more!
