Sharpton Was Paid to Aid Kerry Campaign
All Election Coverage
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - All of John Kerry (news - web sites)'s one-time rivals in the Democratic presidential primary eventually lined up to support him as the nominee, but only one got paid for it — Al Sharpton (news - web sites).

The Democratic National Committee (news - web sites) paid Sharpton $86,715 in travel and consulting fees to compensate for his campaigning for Kerry and other Democratic candidates, according to reports to the Federal Election Commission (news - web sites).

In an interview with The Associated Press, Sharpton said he was paid for travel and he didn't know how much he had been reimbursed.

"They asked me to travel to 20 or 30 cities to campaign, and I did that," Sharpton said. "What am I supposed to do, donate the cost of air fare?"

1. Michael Savage ripped Sharpton yesterday
on his radio show. He was talking about how the Village Voice wrote about an affair he is having and that the woman's husband left her after she kept receiving jewelry in the $$$ thousands from Sharpton.

Apparently, she traveled around the country with him. I think Savage is SOB, in the same class as Assclown Hannity.

So they are definitely spinning and getting scared.

4. I really don't mind people being reasonably compensated ..
or reimbursed for expenses. Perhaps Howard Dean and Wesley Clark were also.

Of course, I'm a not-yet-a-lawyer (almost everything's in place-gotta' pass the Bar). And I understand that speakers and professionals deserve their fees. And when I donate, I know that this is part of the picture.

17. I've been thinking through the scenarios
I think the first thing they'd do is attack the results and discredit the methods. They have already sought to freeze the numbers with Blackwells duplicity. Thirdly, they'd get the Brownshirts to disrupt and intimidate again (like Florida 2000).

12. I wonder how much Condi was paid
for campaigning for Shrub? All the rightwing pundits can do is try to smear someone who knows what he is doing. I like Al Sharpton. He tells it like it is.

10. Yeah I see
Everyone thinks it's "money".

Kerry had too much money.

Cobb is doing it for the money.

Bev Harris is doing it for the money.

No, no, no. Whatever their bad or their good, I think everyone is doing it for ideas, ideology, power, (popularity-fame) and to change things.

It's not money.

When, ironically on the other hand-Halliburton(remember them AP??) and Dick Cheney are all about greed. Nothing but.

How dare liberals make any money...or take anything..when we have leaders in the White House that are the most venal and corrupt in our history? Oh the nerve.

Mulia Rulon wrote an article that briefly stated the discrepancies of voting machines between republican areas and democrats areas in Ohio had already been resolved and explained but I haven't heard any explanation. I want to write to her and ask her what she is talking about. Any idea how I can track down her email? I tried yesterday but couldn't find it.

Edit: Here is part of the article she wrote

Jackson Vow to Continue Ohio Vote Probe

By MALIA RULON
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON
A Democratic congressman and Jesse Jackson said Wednesday they will continue to investigate complaints of election irregularities in Ohio, but they won't call for a delay in the official certification process.

Rep. John Conyers of Michigan, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, convened a hearing to examine accusations of voting problems in Ohio. Many of the election complaints, such as disparities in vote totals and a shortage of voting machines in Democratic-leaning urban precincts, have already been cited and explained.

10 points to whoever finds her email address.

14. Of Course They're All Over Sharpton...
...The man isn't my cup of tea,but he is the democratic lead on the fraud story.(I might add that on this I TOTALLY respect him!)As to costs, try booking even buisness class fares on short notice to 25 + cities and see how that adds up even without required limos, hotels, and meals. Sharpton is the cowboy hat we position above a rock on a stick. The volume of fire he receives tells how scared the amb*shers are.

They know the man probably doesn't have much money. Isn't that why they contributed to his campaign?
