It is time that we fully organize, right now as you read this volunteers in Ohio are being locked out of federal buildings and are being stopped from working on the recount there. Who knows what type of corruption is taking place behind closed doors. The only way to fight this, and do it right now is with the MSM help, we have no choice.

What we need to do is set up a list right now of emails of DUer's and any other volunteers. This email list will ONLY be used when there is an urgent need for immediate mobilization of our voices.

When we get an alert email, it will have the facts of the situation and the contact information of various organizations which need to be contacted. If we can organize 500 hundred emails, and 500 phone calls within a few hour period they wont ignore us. Hopefully we can get thousands.

Does anyone else see the value in this? We can mass mobilize, using our free weekend minutes and emails we can make CNN hear our voices, even with foxnews and msnbc. We need to get attention to the situation going on in Ohio right now.

If you feel comfortable you can PM me your private email, which i will not give to anyone. If you don't feel comfortable and you think I'm just some newbie then damnit wakeup and realize we need to act fast and organize.

I will be setting up a website hopefully tonight where you can sign up to be part of this coalition of volunteers.

If any more experienced DUer would like to help i would appreciate it because I doubt that many people will even pay attention to this right away.

38. Just Saw This...

I'm desperate and have been posting, joining news groups, forwarding petitions to my email friends, getting connected any way I can. I just sent an email message from solarbus to Bob Graham, Bill Nelson & Cruella about getting on board and supporting Ohio. I've already received a form letter to forward to C-Span to cover hearings. Connected with CodePink and I can't remember them all. So many fits and starts!

I live in Florida too, and know how it feels! I will sign up with you and keep my fingers crossed. I thought TRUTHOUT was going to do something, then ANSWER, then MoveOn, then Michael Moore and so many others. So you see, a lot of us have been really busy since the election. AND of course campaigning BEFORE the election!! I think I'm signed up with IndependentMedia, but I've signed so many. Will sign again and "Keep Hope Alive!"

Got my fingers crossed and am at a point that I'll try anything. Screw the FREEPERS!

RECOUNT THE VOTE

This morning, December 11th, at the Greene county BOE in Ohio, two certified vote-counters knocked on the door to find it unlocked leaving the voting records unattended for an unknown period of time.

The previous afternoon, Friday December 10th, retired attorney, Joan Quinn, and retired elections official, Katrina Sumner, both from California, were told to leave the premises of the Greene county BOE, where they had been recounting the vote. By law, and as associated with the efforts of the Greens and Libertarian parties, certified vote-counters are able to engage in this activity so that the voting record is verified. Ms. Garman, the Greene county BOE director, was reportedly told by Ohio Secretary of State Mr. Blackwell's office that the voting records were not open to the public.

IN addition to the judicial 'go ahead' this past week, there is the Ohio Revised Code Title XXXV Elections, Sec. 3503.26 which states, "that requires all election records to be made available for public inspection and copying."

How much more illegal blockading are the citizens of the United States willing to swallow from Mr. Blackwell's office?

but we've been freeped a lot in the last months and that makes everyone really cautious around here. WELCOME TO DU but please respect our reticence on this matter. Maybe a better idea would be for the moderators to set up a grouping of all DUers by zip code or county of each state and let them decide when an APB is needed.

but it has to start somewhere, i dont know about the people supporting me but i know about myself and my own integrity and you dont have to worry about that. I want to do something and i think time is of the essence, i literally finished my finals week 12 hours ago and would love to go get drunk, but I did not study constitutional law for 4 years so that my beloved country could get stolen from under my nose. I have emailed DU about this to no avail, if someone else has the ear of a DU admin please help me or start a list with someone that has more posts, it isnt about personal credit i just want to do something to help!

Sorry if I made some of you leary. I have been following the site for a few weeks but have not yet posted. I was just trying to find my way around and learn the ropes before posting. Didn't mean to sound alarm bells. I do think this is a great idea though. I also have been calling and e-mailing to everyone but the voice of many speaks louder than 1. I am so thankful to have found this site. I wouldn't know most of what's going on without it. I'll try to be more careful when posting since I'm new. I am legitimately with you all and NOT against you. I worked my butt off in this election to send John Kerry to the White House and I just want to continue helping any way I can! 18. This may make it easier on you all.

You can use the blaster(s) on my site. If its appropriate, all you need to do is submit the letters to: 1) the media; 2) the "tell a friend" emailer. Its probably very similar to what you have in mind. Most actions could easily involve the media (protests, etc.), and the "friend" letter can say whatever you want. Also, I make custom blasters on request. (See the UU church one here.)

Right now, I'm accumulating a list of emails of people that have used the blaster(s)(optional), and, as promised, soon I will set up an alert broadcast system (newsletter program) to offer them opportunities to participate in various emailings, etc. ("actions") read below. For obvious reasons I can't be there to join the show but this is an opportunity which has to be given public exposure all over the place, not just locally.

Exposing the hypocrisy of the US democratic process would make a great ideological tool to help defeat and demoralize the Bush neo-fascists who are in control of the White House illegally. They can use their 'psy-ops' to indoctrinate the naive, that's not so hard to do, but we could fight them with public exposure of the fraud and to nuetralize their success in the indoctrination. The one thing they hate is public limelight, like the vampire fears the sunshine and the sign of the cross.
