ok, well I'm in D.C. lets say we didn't have stellar turnout:
4 people besides myself, and...I was close to the most rational of them all, i'm scared for 'the movement' if thats all we can offer

12. Word of mouth was absent
I think a few small groups organized this and the word wasn't spread very well. The diehard DFL volunteers weren't even there. Hopefully there will be a huge showing tomorrow in Ohio.

14. Good for you for showing up!
This is a concern to me as well.

We have a small but dedicated group her in KC, but I had to work today and couldn't be part of the protest.

We need a national leader, someone to get some press and inspire others to act.

But, have faith, we are out there even if we couldn't stand with you today.

15. Ok, this gives me an opening.
I was at a rally yesterday that was very well organized - we had speakers, 100-150 turnout, PA system, the works. It turned out great. Today's was well....not so good. My point: If you are going to say you are having a rally, I think you have a responsbility to organize it. The people worked extremely hard on the rally yesterday and spent a bit of money distributing flyers, etc. It takes a great deal of dedication and work to make for a successful rally, especially in view of the lack of press this whole issue is getting. But if you put out info that you're having a rally and don't do the groundwork to make it happen, it does more harm than good (IMHO). I agree it's VERY important to mobilize, but there's a great deal more to putting on a rally than just saying let's rally.

10. wimp!
LOL! Coming from a Californian, that better be a joke, right? Hey, I get cold if it dips below seventy, but I'd be there if I lived in Ohio! What is it they say in cold climes? Dress in layers. Do what you gotta do. If you live there, please support the poster.

16. This protest was more than disappointing, it was embarrassing.
Less than 100 people, more like 60. The apathy in Columbus is suffocating.

17. really sorry to hear this...
shame more people didn't show up. we should take a lesson for this and see what we can do to plan events better in the future - we need to organize better PR.

18. I second that
We indeed need people in Columbus Now!
We need everyone at the Columbus, Ohio State House tomorrow, for the hands around the state house demonstration, when the electoral college meets. Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Springfield, Toledo come here now.
