Can't figure Michael Moore out
There is still so much silence. I think there are signs from John Kerry, Howard Dean, John Edwards, and so on, for clues they are leaving us.

But, we know Michael Moore just didn't decide to suit up one day for no reason. I think there was something very symbolic about Michael Moore being dolled up on Jay Leno. What could that mean? he's going to Kerry's inauguration? he's going to geoge's impeachment? What do you think it means??

12. Michael Moore didn't "sell out"
There is no reason for him to change his mind all of a sudden. If you believe he has totally 180'd then you're really gullible. He was being extrmemely sarcastic and alluding to something.

Can't wait to find out what...

nope, why should he?
He's a multi be-jillionaire and answerable to nobody. Please don't spread dis-information.

2. Jesse Jackson had a good line about Moore
at the Conyers hearing, said "let's not make Michael Moore come to Ohio" or something like that. :-)

Regarding the silence, he might be working on his HMO movie, or on the election footage, or just resting. I don't really think it's so strange for him to recede to the background for a while.

3. I don't think it means much of anything
He just decided to dress up. Now if he dawned a Red Sox Hat I might interpret that differently.

25. He has an extremely
high profile and a particularly tendentious one in relation to the neos. The effect of visible activism on his part would be similar to that of John Kerry doing so.

It would enable the neos to personalize and demonize the very issue of Democracy, itself, which is currently being ably defended by people producing and adducing hard actionable evidence of all kinds. Softly softly...

4. Seems like another wait and see thing
Wait for Kerry, wait to see what Michael will do, wait for Democratic leadership. Michael may still have cameramen and women in good positions. He seems to get some good footage. Part of it may be his leadup to another Oscar? ? Freeps on another website think Moore has lost all credibility after B*sh's big mandate. Unless he was threatened in some way, he won't stay quiet.

7. I suspect some of the footage taken Nov 2 by MM and crew
will be used as evidence in court tomorrow morning!!

ON another thread it was reported that one of his crew replied when asked: "Are you making a sequel to 911?", by an anonymous voter. "No, we are collecting evidence to be used in court".

14. Here it is - this article gives me hope
Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 05:05 PM by rockedthevoteinMA
"A cheer rings out when the cavalry arrives, by tour bus. A roiling mass of boom mics, cameras, and floodlights emerges and lurches toward the school. At the center is filmmaker Michael Moore, a slouching mound of indignation in New Balance sneakers. The General Patton of the Left has come to rouse the troops.

Moore asks for a field report. Grim expressions tell the story. The problem is long lines, one man says. "There's people I personally spoke to who waited three hours to vote."

Moore nods attentively. "Where's our camera?" he barks. "Make sure we get this on camera, 'cause we're not just looking for fraud. We're also looking for ineptitude."

"Are you making a movie about the election?" someone asks.

"The videotape exists as evidence," he says. "It's not to appear in your cineplex. It's to appear in a court of law!"

It almost sounds as if JJ and MM were working together.

5. Wisely, MM may wish to remain in plain sight right now
without saying a word. MM doesn't need 'extra' media attention. He would be a catalyst that would bring out all the tired msm stories about him rather than the fight for democracy. His silence, I understand! :)

It's about the best we can do right now, and, trust me, it won't be long before we start the real work we need to do to get our country back.

13. Jay Leno appearance: yanking chains
He was obviously having fun w/the audience - the rousing Bush supporting
applause audibly dwindled as MM's interview went on and Bush supporters
felt their chains being yanked.

MM is not silent. He is speaking out, but not where the media is reporting.
I spoke w/a friend last night who heard him speak to a very large group last
wknd (I believe) in a private home, from atop a staircase, mic in hand and
a PA system conducting his words to those who could not fit into the foyer.

From what I heard last night, his comments were mostly directed at
"embracing Hollywood," i.e., we need a candidate who can be as honorable
as Kerry, yet speak like Mush, and move voters with their "feelings."

ok - just found this...
Check it out:
http://www.palisadespost.com/content/index.cfm?Story_ID=800

"All in all, it was a great 24 hours. We rose to the occasion for a day, but Michael Moore has been at it for decades. The man is fearless. He hunts down the truth for all of our sakes. He is democracy's greatest defender. Do you want to know what a real American hero looks like?

Baggy pants, a double chin and a baseball cap. And, he was right there, in our entry hall, Sunday afternoon."

A powerful movie. The guy went to Charleton Heston's (Mr. NRA's) home! He interviewed Heston who had to get up and walk away from Moore in Heston's own home. MM is working it - I assure you.

16. Yeah I wrote the same comment yesterday
MM is acting weird--which in his case means acting "straight". Don't know what is up, but seems to me that MM is not one to just sit back and do nothing. Time will tell, I guess.

Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 05:21 PM by Patsy Stone
It's all part of some plan. It has to be. You can't really believe that MM suddenly "turned" can you? Noooo. There is too much silence. No one has suddenly forgotten anything. It's like they're...robots. This is not organic. This is freaky weird, but very special. Looking forward to the week to come.

20. Maybe, all this silence
is to drive the neo-cons crazy!! They have got to be looking over their shoulders by now. At some point, the whistleblowers will start to come out. Let's face it. They can't wait for Karl Rove to save them.

26. Right On - Turnabout Is Fair Play
It's difficult for us Kerry supporters to step outside ourselves during crucial times like this but if you examine it at a macro level, Kerry's silence and protestations to the contrary about the Ohio recount results aren't too different from Dubya's legal efforts in November of 2000. Kerry is using misdirection, a strategy he learned in 'Nam. The week to come should be just as historic as the last!
