I really meant what I wrote. I did not know that Kerry had written a letter re: this whole mess. I hope it does some good and I hope that Kerry fights the fight of his life, not just for me, but for America.

I feel like I am living in a surreal world here in the USA where everyone knows that Kerry won the election but no one is doing anything about this travesty to our democracy.

taking a case to court unless he had enough compelling evidence to make that case and win. People should know more about Kerry by now.

14. It isn't on the AAR blog for the show either. I am getting worried that

somebody either didn't understand, or that this was a nasty joke on us, either from a freeper, or from someone who supported some other dem, and wants to force Kerry to become more involved, or embarrass him for not getting more involved. Wouldn't the entire AAR blog be abuzz with this too, if something so big was announced on the show?

Oh, I so hope that he really wrote the letter. Who could verify it? Could someone call and get verification from the show? This shouldn't be spread all around if it isn't true. And I myself am guilty, if it turns out it isn't true, and it does get spread around. I most often urge caution, but I jumped on this bandwagon bigtime.

BUt it's still pretty great news. I listened to the Flanders show -- she talked to several guests including Jessie Jackson. Kerry and Cliff A and Jessie Jackson did a conference call together to draft the letter to be sent/delivered tomorrow.

Steve Rosenthal (sp) is the one who delivered this news to Flanders (and rest of audience).

Two minor presidential candidates who received 0.30 percent of the votes in last month's election requested the recount, claiming that the election was full of irregularities that need to be addressed.

atty., for Kerry, McTigue, is the one who has written the letter, and Kerry is still being cautious in his comments. But even still, this is VERY good news!

Kerry's campaign supports the recount but says it won't change the election outcome. Bush's campaign has criticized the recount effort, saying it won't change anything.

McTigue said the visual inspection is allowed under state law. The goal is to look for potential votes that were not registered by the tabulating equipment.

Other requests include the use of independent experts to check the programming and calibration of the election equipment, something McTigue said has never been allowed.

McTigue also asked that counties accept the help of a group called Votewatch to determine which precincts will be chosen for that part of the vote that will be counted by hand. McTigue said using the group will ensure that the ballots are selected using a valid random sampling method.

The procedures require 3 percent of ballots to be counted by hand in each county, and then all ballots to be counted if the initial check turns up problems.
