O'Keefe's leaving NASA is not unexpected given the turnover in the administration and his controversial tenure and the nature of the position in general, but it is certainly interesting that Clint Curtis emerged just last week.

The possible NASA shenanigans(sp?) alluded to in Madsen's story prompted me to remember that last State of the Union address, where * said we were all going to vacation on Mars. I thought at the time that it was sort of odd, considering the fallout from the shuttle disaster was still pretty thick; why would the most anti-geek prez in history put such a thing on the table, and why would his party not put up even the meekest of challenges? These same republicans have been cutting research funding like mad for the past decade. And now we learn that some of NASA's funding might be getting funneled towards disreputable ends...
