Does anyone know about
the petition that was out here on Saturday? I posted last night asking this same question and no one has answered so I am trying one more time before giving up. I feel like possibly it was removed by the moderator? Because it certainly turned ugly. If a moderator removes something like that, do they notify you? I am very angry about what was done as I felt that was a legitimate petition but it sure turned illegitimate soon enough. And if anyone else signed it, you may want to have a look at what is being done with your name. I am thoroughly PO'ed. Guess I am still learning my lessons about what to do and not to do on the Internet. I have signed petitions for years and have never had this happen. I will never sign another without printing it off and then snail mailing my signature.

2. dmac...
You're probably talking about this petition:

http://www.petitiononline.com/olec/petition.html

On Saturday I emailed the owner of the company, who said he'd contact the people who actually run the site, and the people who started the petition (I contacted them, too, but no reply from them so far). He said he's considering how best to handle it, probably by removing all the CRAP before having it sent out.

Unbelievable how moronic and peurile these people are. I don't know why I'm shocked, I guess I live in a safe little world where I'm shielded from rampant stupidity, LOL.

9. I guess it is time for me to ask?
What exactly are freepers? I have inferred from context clues in the posts I have read that they are Republicans. But are they from some exclusive group, kind of like DU'ers? Because none of the Republicans I know would do anything so childish. Thanks.

5. Thank you so much for your reply
I, too, checked the people who started the petition and they definitely appeared legit. It will never get enough signatures to mean anything because everyone I sent it to is now responding back to me asking why I would send it out and did I know my name is being used repeatedly throughout the petition (I don't suppose there is anything to be done about THAT?)

Anyway, if you don't mind, if you hear back from any of your inquiries, would you mind emailing me? Thanks again for answering. I have been very upset about this.

12. I will, dmac...
I was pissed as hell to see them mocking legitimate petitioners.

I'm wondering it doing that violates some kind of privacy policy or something. It's the cyber equivalent of forging somebody's signature. I didn't put a comment or address, but when I saw all that mindless crap it really pissed me off.

6. What evil people. They are just repulsive, do they not see
that if their boy really won, the wait wouldn't matter.

I find myself asking god to give me the strength to not hate them, but it is so hard. :argh:

Vile, evil, disgusting members of the human race. :puke:

3. Oh, Oh
I signed it and displayed my address. What were/are they doing? I see it is no longer taking signatures. What did I just get myself into?

7. They are taking the legitimate signers
and using them again and again with comments like, "yes, please make sure my votes for GWB are counted" or "count my vote as many times as you want to for GWB"

I tell you, even seeing something like that beside my name makes my skin crawl. I am angry but I don't suppose there is anything anyone can do about it. I am just slightly embarrassed as I sent it out to A LOT of people.

8. Thanks for the reply
I tried to go to the site to see the signatures and they say they are not displaying them. So I put in an obviously bogus name and in the comments asked them if they were Freepers. I still can't see the signature lines. Maybe they've been stopped? Oh well I used my maiden name which is very common like Mary Smith. But I did give my address. Oh well, I hope it amused someone.
