DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CALL US THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must write to them and object.
We are NOT dissidents merely for asking for an investigation to ensure that elections laws have been upheld.
CORRECT THEM. Or they will continue using this against us.
WE ARE PERFECTLY WITHIN OUR RIGHTS TO BE ASKING FOR THIS INVESTIGATION. IT IS A MATTER OF LAW!!!!!!!!!!!

bu I must disagree. The rights based environment you described is now a distant fantasy. No, I believe we are dissidents in every sense of the word. Its just like calling myself a liberal. They want to attach a stigma to it, but I am who I am, and right now, with my orange armband, I am a dissident.

For CNN to post it on their home page, it has finally hit the MSM. The next 24 hours are going to be very critical now for us to win the public opinion wars.
The pundits are going to start using all the talking points, but we must refute them with evidence.

but it says:
"Protesters had been expected to demonstrate outside the Capitol as Electoral College delegates voted in the Ohio Senate chamber, but none were present as the vote began at midday."
Anyone know if it's true or not?

5. being referred to as "dissidents" |
|
also they make mention of Kerry's letter last week but say nothing about the most recent he submitted yesterday to the electors. Subtle hit piece missing many important facts but heck, they don't want the average reader to know the truth.:puke:
"The dissidents claim there were disparities in vote totals for Democrats, too few voting machines in Democrat-leaning precincts, organized campaigns directing voters to the wrong polling place and confusion over the counting of provisional ballots by voters whose names did not appear in the records at polling places."
"Kerry issued a statement last week saying reported voting problems should be investigated to ensure there are no doubts in future elections. His campaign does not dispute that Bush won the election, but supports the recounts."

32. No I don't see that, and screaming it in caps does not make it true |
|
We disagree with the 'established system' - political or religious. We are dissidents by definition. If we were the established system, we wouldn't be fighting this right now. I don't see what the big deal is. It is a word with a meaning that may be bastardized in the media, I don't know, but I don't care. I don't watch TV, I don't read a lot of shitty newspapers, and am not afraid of words like LIBERAL and DISSIDENT. I won't pretend NOT to be something I am just because someone else doesn't know the proper definition.

|
Basically I said that
"Using the word 'dissident' in articles about the Ohio recount is very disturbing."
I also made sure they understood that:
"The people calling for the recount are not 'dissidents.' They are Patriotic Americans who want to make sure every vote is counted."

34. I was offended by Dissidents...but after thinking about it, the word |
|
really takes into account that this isn't a Democratic Party Group. And just as Liberal has been a word used against us as an Epithet, if the Media say "Political Parties" question the election it will bring the Repugs out of their holes to attack the "challenge" as Partisan.
So, I'll live with "Dissident" meaning disenting groups," if I have to.
Curious the article left out Kerry's wanting to inspect the 93 thousand punch card votes and the tabulating machines, though...isn't it?
And, just a little mention of Arneback's suit... very quiet out there.

From the link:
Carlo LoParo, spokesman for Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, defended the election results. For the challengers' accusations to be true, he said, officials in both parties would have had to conspire to throw the election.
Anyone know if this is true?

from the article in the original message
<snip> Carlo LoParo, spokesman for Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, defended the election results. For the challengers' accusations to be true, he said, officials in both parties would have had to conspire to throw the election.
"That's simply a ridiculous assertion," he said. <end snip>
Yeah right Mr. Carlo LoParo, senior spokesman, and I just fell off the turnip truck. Is this the stupid crap that they are going to throw out as the reason for this voting result. Bring on James Baker, at least he has some intelligence. Get ready to mail, e-mail and telephone the major networks if they start to parrot this tripe.
P.S. Be mean about having your intelligence insulted.

if we let them get away with fraud, and don't take to the streets in the greatest show of insurgency against an illegitimate president, we are bitches indeed.
I'm taking to the streets, as soon as the evidence of fraud is presented, and ignored by the powers that be.
