13. Sorry, I think I replied to the wrong response |
|
the intent was "what a coincidence" that the Peterson trial results should be coming at the same time as the Ohio Hearings, but since the Ohio hearings won't be aired after alll, guess it's all water over the dam anyway

17. Thanks. Had me worried there. |

Yea all sorts of strange coincidences. Another is the anniversary of Saddam's capture, which is also grabbing headlines away.

9. until you know what's it's like up close and in your face, shut up. |
|
sorry to be rude to you, but you deserve it.
There is nothing on the face of the earth as painful as a parent burying a child so give the guy/gal some slack.

7. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I am so very sorry for you and would not question |
|
your opinion.
For me personally, though, I think seeing the execution of someone who had given me so much pain would do very little to heal that pain. I believe it would be easier in some ways to step away from the hold the murderer had had on my life if he were imprisoned in maximum security without eligibility for parole, knowing that the memory of what he had done would have to stay with him-regardless of any demonstrable guilt or conscience.

25. I have a lot of concern for those who believe they will have closure |
|
or in some way "feel better," once they have witnessed the execution of their loved ones' murderer. I guess I can never know for sure, but I strongly believe that is a fallacy that may cause long term harm.

10. I hope they don't find out at a later date that he was innocent. |
|
That's what bothers me about the death penalty. Not only would a innocent man been murdered but a killer got away with it. That's why DNA evidence is a good thing, they got DNA they got the guilty party. I hope the 100% guilty party got executed for you and your families peace of mind.

is a day for verdicts and retribution.Peterson's is just ending,he'll probably get the death sentence and Laci's poor family can try to heal and our is just beginning for all of the stolen elections, today is the real beginning of the fight and soon the verdict will come for Blackwell, Harris O'dell, Rove and any other crooked types. I think is very significant that these two cases are in court on the same day.
Reversals ,Reversals of elections past.:toast:

12. I understand the LOL is probably at the irony of timing... but it seems |
|
rather unfortunate given the seriousness of potentially delivering a decision for state-sponsored execution.....

23. Don't misunderstand. See my other comments. I simply think we |
|
should ignore it as the non-critical national "news" story it truly is--but I can't condone LAUGHING about it. Again, I suspect your LOL was at the irony of this story once again overwhelming true news, including the election fraud developments. On this, I truly agree with you.

19. frankly, the fate of one suburban family embroiled in some |
|
bizarre internescine murder scandal REALLY, REALLY doesn't interest me anymore, and frankly never did.
In my neighborhood, people -- mostly black, mostly poor -- are shot down and murdered left and right, every day, day in, day out -- and it never makes the national news. It's consider par for the course.
In my community, young poor women who can't afford abortions end up throwing their new born babies in dumpsters....
I really, really could care less about the fate of Scott Peterson...and do not to this day understand why that case has gotten so much media attention for so long
who the FUCK cares ??????? And if they do care , WHY do they care? What makes this case so important in the greater scheme of things? And why are we talking about it here on a thread called "election 2004"

22. I AM NOT saying one should care about watching it as "news..." |
|
This story has been manipulated, exploited, and bastardized as true news. But, I don't "LOL" about the potential for a death penalty to be announced--for anyone. If that is the jury's verdict, so be it. But, I won't laugh about it! The story does have true, sincere victims, after all--the woman's mother, for one. For their sakes, I say ignore the story and let them try to get on with their lives.

24. as I said, the LOL was referring to the "timing" not to the |
|
potential for death penalty.
But really, I still don't understand why these people's lives seem to matter more than the lives of my neighbors and my community.
(actually, I DO understand, all too well--that's the problem).
