11. Where are the young people???

I know there are lot of DUers here going to college. Get organized. You have a big part of our base all around you. Spread the word. Spread fliers. The real story is on the net. Make sure people know where to find the truth.

At the rallies I went to, the average age had to be 50. We actually had a group "Raging Grannys" I swear they had too be in their 80's and they marched with us.

Young people this is your future we are fighting for. You have the power to change the world. This is your time and your efforts will be written in history texts for generations to come.

I for one have turned many folks on to DU and the real news not reported by the MSM and the reason why the do not report.


Build your base, choose open minded people. They don't have to be Dem's, just open minded.

Tell them the MSM news consists of events manufactured and exploited for max profit - this is not news. Cite examples

Send them the real juicy LBN stories. You know, the once in a while gems printed on pg A 1000 of the NYT's and the Wash Post. Send more than one source. Back up your liberal news sources with like info from other lib sites, pubs etc.

My objective is to let my readers know that the stories I send them are real and under reported due to the MSM's fear of right wing reprisals and control over them. Hopefully over time, we will build and build and actually overcome the powerful mind control of Fox and the fascist cartel that rule the Republicans and the nation over freedom.

14. We would have had larger turnouts at the 50-state protests

If people would have had more fliers out there. As it was, only people who use the internet and were looking for info on protests, found out about it. Of course we have AAR and local, community-sponsored radio, but that wasn't enough. I wish I would have thought to do a flier campaign for the protest last Saturday. I was doing a lot of this before Thanksgiving, and you are right, it is good exercise, and makes you feel like you might be making a difference

Reform InternetServiceProvider (ISP) & telephony infrastructure..

This way online content is more distributable in terms of networking..

There should be at least one open source server (or server farm) on every city block. Shared resources, multiple ownership & mutually beneficial agreements are required if the community is to truly own the bandwidth and effectively disseminate local news. The current model of 1-2 ISPs for every small- to medium-sized town continues to suck.

And when wireless really starts growing.. Imagine having a live broadcasting server inside your iPod. That's where it's going, albeit slowly.
