We can be the voice: Guerilla marketing
It is frustrating that the media is not covering this story the way we would like. The He said, She said format that passes for journalism is not conducive to informing people, the
majority of whom have no idea what is going on.

With nothing more than computers, printers and Kinkos,
just a few dollars and some willing bodies we can be
the media.

We do need to get the word out to the average person
on the street. IMHO a brilliant way to take the next
step and get the word out to those who do not frequent
lefty web sites is to use poor man's advertising and
free delivery systems. We can spread the immediate
message, that the election was fraudulent.

Before the election I was using guerilla marketing in
my GOTV street canvassing, by posting and distributing
flyers I had created and photocopied at Kinkos.

I have created high res PDF & TIF files that inform
and most importantly mock Bush & Blackwell. Files can
be downloaded at http://somnamblst.tripod.com

BUSH CHEATED is color but can be printed and
photocopied B&W to save $$$. They print 2 to a sheet,
so you will have to cut them.

Use BUSH CHEATED, Barney Blackwell and the Blackwell
RECUSE graphics to flyer cars or even BETTER...

Buy a can of 3M Super 77 spray adhesive from Staples
and glue the BUSH CHEATED graphic to metal utility
poles, bus stop shelters, advertising benchs,
newspaper racks etc in urban areas.

I had hoped to plaster Columbus at the rally on Dec. 4
but the wind was so bad it would have been
impossible. I did hand out lots of the Blackwell
RECUSE graphic to rally participants. I have been
glueing BUSH CHEATED on bus stop shelters and utility
poles near campus in Cincinnati and most of my
handiwork has not been peeled off.

If anyone has ideas and copy for additional flyers,
let me know.

1. That is an excellent idea, and bumper stickers. Because people
will think about it if they see it.

I have a redhands bumper sticker on my car and a RESTORE DEMOCRACY sticker beside it.

At least it is getting people to think about it in a traffic jam.

4. The reason the BUSH CHEATED 04 design is effective is because
it uses the Bush/Cheney campaign design. BUSH CHEATED could be OUR Sore Loserman.

Remember how Sore Loserman spread and how fast it spread? Someone had those printed and someone made sure they were distributed.

The memme is BUSH CHEATED.

2. This shouldn't be buried. Show on 60 Minutes about viral marketing...
and how it is becoming a real strategy now even for corporations.

The word gets out, the buzz is created. We have to keep talking about it and telling people. Letting people know how the media is burying the story. It was pretty instructive to tell people how all this was coming out, and then today there was almost nothing. People I know are starting to get the picture, slowly but surely.

These signs are strong, BUSH-CHENEY CHEATED, but that may be what it takes.

5. There is a lot we can learn from them
1. We must learn to use mockery.

2. We have to learn how to yada yada our message.

Bush cheated and Blackwell is an Uncle Tom race traitor.

7. The most popular flyer I ever did was GWB is a PAB
I was going through 100 of these a day 3 weeks before the election. Everyone wanted a copy and most would not even fold it to put it in their pocket, because they didn't want to mess it up. I want to do an updated version with fraud lyrics, maybe add Blackwell as Steppin Fetch it. Need DUer help with new rhyming lyrics about fraud.

6. We have to do this! I will stick w/ non-partisan anti-fraud angle cuz
I think that will win fellow moderates and conservatives better than "Bush Cheated".

8. We have to Swift Boat their asses. Playing fair does not get it.
Read what Thom Hartman said about using mockery:

http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0817-13.htm

Cheney Speaks to the Reptile Brain
by Thom Hartmann

"I am not unaware of the effect of the ridicule cast on this instrument of defence by those who wished for engines of offence."
- Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison referencing damage done to morale by jokes about the US Navy, May 21, 1813

It's Willie Horton all over again. The Bush family is subjecting Americans to psychological operations, only the level of sophistication and deception is an order of magnitude higher than it was in 1988. And it could turn the election, if not used effectively in rebuttal.

Here's how it works, and how Dick Cheney just used it masterfully:

We humans, being the product of a long evolutionary process, really have three brains. And, as the Bush psy-ops folks know, politicians who win campaigns do so because they speak to all three of those brains.

snip

When Dick Cheney recently took John Kerry's comment about sensitivity in the war on terror out of context and spun it for his audiences, he was performing a psychologically masterful bit manipulation of all three brains.

Only ridicule with a subtext of fear has this power.

26. And they used Flip-Flopper and Swift Boat Vets and we played nice
because we were afraid to alienate moderates. They created hatred for our candidate by incessantly mocking him. Smear works period.

9. Fucking A
I have been carrying a permanent marker in my purse, and I write things on public bathroom wallls like Bush Cheated and the likes and I also include url's with fraud info. I know some of you think this might be childish or whatever. I had told a dem friend of mine and she pretty much gave me a long lecture on how I shouldn't write on public walls and how it's wrong yada yada.. I told her to fuck off. If the media whores are gonna continue to ignore the issues, then I'm gonna do everything that I can to get the fucking word out.

The bottom line is, we need to inform the clueless folks out there on what's on going! LET'S GET THE WORD OUT PEOPLE!

10. Maybe
Instead of writing on the walls, you should ask the owner (if it's private property) if he/she would allow you to post some fliers... You obviously have a different opinion, but I don't like graffiti/writing on walls no matter what it's message might be. No matter what the message, people aren't going to take someone who broke a law to get their message out seriously.

11. Flyers..
I have made my own damn flyers, spent all kinds of fucking money on paper, asking property owners/mgrs if I can post the goddamn flyers. I was nonstop posting them everywhere I could. I'm done. I'm tired. I'm pissed. Writing on walls works so I'm gonna continue doing it. Thank you for your opinion.

It's ok for you to make the owners of the walls spend money to cover up your writing? Sorry, I don't think that helps the cause.

20. I wonder if we don't have freepers
These messages won't convince anyone.

I come from Illinois where tons of Reds came over in droves to Obama. The 25% vote for who "Jesus sent me" crowd will never be convinced of anything. the half can be and I've seen it first hand this election working for Obama for two years!

But this is way bigger than freeper games and names.

The moral arc of the Universe bends towards Justice.

These people are just here to discourage others from sending out their own rational message.

Do what works for you and try not to break any laws yet. That time may come on January 20.

ALSO, INSIDE ENVELOPES THAT YOU SEND TO YOUR BILL COLLECTORS.
I'VE ALSO WRITTEN THE MESSAGE ON THE CARDS YOU CAN FILL OUT WHEN YOU GO TO CERTAIN RESTAURANTS, OR EVEN BANKS THAT HAVE THOSE QUESTIONNAIRES - "HOW WAS THE SERVICE?...MY STAMPER WORKS GREAT ON THESE TOO.

18. TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY
KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!!!!
I've done posters for rock shows, etc.

Make your own headline...

KERRY MAY HAVE WON OHIO!

Graphics, TExT only, whatever, doesn't matter.

See my earlier post:

We are close! The truth will out! The moral arc of the universe bends towards justice (Dr. King)

Please people. Remember to get off the computer tomorrow and print out a flyer that says KERRY MAY HAVE WON OHIO. Back it up with facts and websites.

Post it in coffee shops and churches and train stations. Pass it out! Let's get the message rolling off the blogosphere.

The people in Ohio need our help NOW!!! Don't let this become another Florida. Reasonable Reds do exist! I'm from Illinois and they came out in droves for Obama (A small percentage 25% voted for the guy who said Jesus sent him. But that percentage won't be convinced. But the other half can be.) I promise. I've seen it!

Good luck. I've marched on DC before and it is a thrilling experience. I remember Nam and the government is still afraid of that kind of power. Really. Take a trip to Ohio if you can. And BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE

22. I thought the same
at first.. But now I'm thinking that KERRY MAY HAVE WON OHIO might be better because it will make people wonder. Like.. huh? He "may have" won? How? Why? People will get curious and will want to know more. KERRY WON OHIO will just sound like it's coming from diehard Kerry fans (which I am by the way) and that no matter what, we're for Kerry. He won and that's that. "May have" sort of invites people to find out why. Know what I mean? Anyway.

25. While I like the work BigPath has done, I have been seeing his/her
stuff since before the election IMHO it is too nice. We need a Sore Loserman, a Flip-Flopper

This is not about Kerry, it's about Bush. He cheated. He used vote suppression, he used tabulation fraud. Whether Rove orchestrated it without his knowledge does not matter. He cheated. The other genius part of BUSH CHEATED 04 is it uses the Bush/Cheney 04 bumper sticker graphic, just as Sore Loserman very cleverly used Gore Lierberman imagery.

Wake up before it's too late
BUSH CHEATED 04
Election fraud brought to you courtesy of Ken Blackwell & Jeb Bush

We must use mockery and innuendo. We have to Yada Yada the issue AND like the mean girls in high school we have to ruin chimpie's reputation. If we don't learn from the GOP's masterful use of psyops we are doomed.

Sammy Sosa and the corked bat? You'll never view Sammy Sosa the same again.

23.  Democracy for Sale, make a flyer and post it in public locations.
Flyers with tearoff web addresses for info regarding the election. Most people won't write down an address but if it was easy to grab it and then peruse it later they might. Just a thought I had while reading through the threads here.

28. self-contained stampers with "bush cheated," "hope your
kids enjoy the draft," or "kerry won ohio" can be had for about $20.

of course, i'd be sure to pay with cash and give a fake name and phone number when placing the order.

with one of those in your pocket, any piece of paper can be your target:
toilet paper rolls in public restrooms,

newspapers in the grocery store,

currency,

correspondence,

paper on bulletin boards,

office break room notes,

restaurant menus,

the inside pages of sean hannity and ann coulter books (careful, though. these things make noise when you stamp them down.),

magazines in the doctor's waiting room.

the list is pretty endless.

anything that appears often enough eventually works its way into people's consciousness. look at what advertisers do. "grape nuts. try 'em for a week." they beat shit like that into our brains day in and day out.

this is a great way to show our disrespect for bush in a way that takes only time and very little money.
