Letter to Representatives and Others
I sent this in the early hours of the morning to many senators (have to get on their "forms" for the rest, media (print and radio) outlets, ken blackwell, other Ohio representatives.
***

At what point do we wake up and say, we CARE about Democracy, we BELIEVE in Democracy, we will STAND UP for Democracy?
At what point do we say that system we have now is FLAWED, and to do better we will STOP making excuses, or talk about how good "most" of the precincts in Ohio did, instead OWN UP to the the fact that what we had in Ohio was NOT a fair, equitable or honest election. What we had in Ohio was a travesty on all accounts. It's not about who won or who lost, it's about any person, of any party affiliation TRUSTING that what they have put on the ballot will get counted in a non-partisan, no-game-playing, HONEST way.

I am saddened, and disillusioned. What hope do we have for our future if we don't admit our mistakes today? Where is the point that lessons are learned? What are we teaching our children -- that the more we say "nothing happened" perhaps, the more people will believe it?

I don't believe it. And someone needs to be accountable and prove to me, a citizen of the US and a tax payer, that the numbers are wrong, that what is statistically *impossible* in vote dispersion has not happened. Investigate Ohio. Recount Ohio.

Hold Secretary of State, Kenneth Blackwell, Co-Chair of the Bush/Cheney Re-election Committee, responsible for poor judgment and lack of understanding of the election process. Make sure that something like this never happens again.

Even if the information in following article does not lead to investigation now, shouldn't we be assured that in the future NO vote machine representative is allowed access to machines AFTER a vote? How will our representatives personally assure this?
