OK...I'ts not my idea, I saw it in another thread...But I think we should all write this on our $20 bills. On the back of the $20 bill is a picture of the White House...a perfect place to write "ONE NATION UNDER FRAUD" (in all caps). I am going to start today. Please join in.

Article XII of the Constitution gives that function to Congress, one of the checks and balances on the Executive Branch.

I think 5 dollar or 10 dollar bills might work better, we could do more of them. Nobody would throw them away, so it keeps on giving.

I think this has potential to enlighten people about what has happened, and I do not think it ought to be done in a negative way it will alienate too many right away.

9. For about a year now, my husband has been

taking a black Sharpie to every bill we get and marking out "God"...He works at Pizza Hut and they couldn't figure out where all of these weird bills were coming from. He keeps a marker in his car and marks them as he gets them.

13. I'll be on the look-out for these $20 bills in the coming months...

...If every DUer across the country does this on ten $20 bills and inconspicuously puts them back into circulation, that will place 600,000 of these bills out there or roughly 12,000 per state. The $20 bills will circulate about 100 times on average in any given month. That would mean on average 1,200,000 chances per month of someone getting one of these bills back in their hands. I will begin this Friday, which is payday (ha, I'm broke at the moment with just $3.00 in my wallet). And I will start looking for others that pop up.

Here is something else we DUers can do when we receive one of these marked $20 bills. Just place a check mark next to the slogan "ONE NATION UNDER FRAUD" and that will acknowledge that a DUer received one. Non-violent passive aggressive protesting!

Question: Is it illegal to deface money?

Answer: There is no law or statute against simply writing on a cash bill. For instance, it is not against the law to draw giant red lips on George Washington's portrait on the front of a One Dollar Bill.

However defacing currency with the intent to alter the bill to gain a benefit is illegal. If someone alters a written instrument (such as a check) without permission and with the intent to gain a benefit, then it is called forgery, which is a crime. If one tried to alter a cash bill (like changing a $5 bill to a $20 bill) for the purpose of presenting the altered bill to gain a benefit, then that could be considered a forgery. Forgery of United States Currency in this manner is called counterfeiting and carries with it very stiff penalties.
