Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 08:38 PM by kevin_pdamerica
As you know www.pdamerica.org has been working close on this issue!

We JUST got word and a copy of the letter sent back in response to the GAO letter from Blackwell.

Here are that scanned version via PDF:

He just told them to f*#* off in a rather obvious manner. He must have protection from higher up or else he is incredibly stupid - or both.

minority party members of one committee of Congress is not an official organ of Congress. It's a bunch of individual politicians on a fishing exhibition who have no more right or power to make demands of a local official than you or I. Remember, we do not live in a democracy. We live in a federal republic where power is shared between the central government and the sovereign states. State officials (regardless of party), empowered by their own citizens and state legislatures, have their own powers and prerogatives and are not obligated to jump everytime someone in Washington sends a letter. And why would he want to cooperate anyway? He knows that this group of Congressman have no other agenda in mind for him except to burn his ass and embarass him. Why not tell them all to go piss up a rope? Unless they've got a summons in their hand, which they can't get without a vote of the entire committee, he's perfectly within his rights to tell them to back off.

7. Signed J. Kenneth Blackwell - What's the J. stand for?
Jackass.

It must take a special kind of jackass to unashamedly lie outright.

10. Jailbird, before too long, God willing
What struck me here (besides the arrogance) was that Blackheart said that the GOA and Dept of Justice were the only ones that had authority to assess violations of HAVA, the "Help America Vote Act". Um, aren't the issues Conyers questioned him about Constitutional ones? Doesn't the Constitution supercede bush's (dirty little) HAVA ?

And also, did I miss something, or does anyone know what happened with the request Conyers (and others) filed, requesting the GOA to investigate? Was it stalled because they didn't get a senator to sign (I thought they had...) We ought to flood the GOA and DOJ with emails.

20. I think we should..
Hi everyone,
I heard that just like K Harris of Florida, that Blackwell wants to run for something (govenor, I think?). There would be nothing like doing a little campaigning for him (in the negative sense of course). Maybe the man needs to be a little shaken up, and know that some people will actually go out of their way to work on the issue of keeping him out of any office.
