If you are thinking about protesting at the inauguration think again
This hot off the LA Times

Military to play central role in inauguration

Military Will March Front and Center at Inaugural Festivities
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=2026&ncid=2026&e=3&u=/latimests/20041214/ts_latimes/militarywillmarchfrontandcenteratinauguralfestivities

Looks like he intends to get out of his car and walk this time. So much for a protest. It won't get within a mile of the place.

Sincerely,
Michael Lewis

8. I quess * will be bringing the War home to us, so we will go to war in DC

He is only setting himself up to look the fool that he really is, we will march the streets of DC and we will become the rioters that is necessary for this country to raise above the evilness that is *. We must not be afraid or worry much about * and his stupid use of our soldiers on the streets of DC. I feel sorry more for the soldiers who are now used by * because unlike us they are no longer free to riot in the streets as we will that day, just remember to bring your gas mask, lol, ha, ha, ha

12. Checklist of things to bring:
1 million people will need the following:

_X_ Gas-mask to withstand the onslaught of tear-gas and stench of corruption

_X_ Air-horn so as to be heard with

_X_ Flags (hung and waved upside down) to show how Bush has turned our country upside down

_X_ Warm clothing with extra-padding to withstand bitter cold and rubber bulletes

_X_ Camcorders to collect it all for historical records

_X_ 1 dozen eggs (can you imagine 12 million eggs hitting the streets of D.C.... that would be a sight to see)

16. I too thought of catapults hurling bladders of pigs blood....
and this:

_X_ Flags (hung and waved upside down) to show how Bush has turned our country upside down

an old symbol for a ship or a soldier in distress, if I am not mistaken.

I think this is typical and despicable - and I think he is doing this because he is scared of the true mandate of the people.

24. Totally Agree - a protest Jan 6th is a lot more effective & important -
Remind the elected officials who put them there and that we are watching...they can't stop the people from gathering on the mall...when the Black vongressional caucus asks for ONE Senator to back an investigation, people on the mall in large numbers might give them courage....

Kerry might... :eyes:

25. I don't think you...
...will get near the parade with air horns. They'll be frisking everyone. If you take them, you'll lose them to confiscation.

Oh yeah, now there's a picture of what we've become -- your basic military state.

Good god.

7. Only a coward surrounds himself with soldiers
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 12:43 AM by berni_mccoy
Bush is afraid of his own people.

A true hero, instead, surrounds himself with the people.

11. who has long distance egg launchers or mini-catapults? My daughter was
at the last inauguration and her group (Close Up) was kept at bay - far far away. I wonder if they're allowing ANY Close Up high school groups to attend this time.

13. I don't think I can watch victims supporting their chief abuser.
There are few things sicker than seeing the abused WORSHIP their abuser. It shows the raw bloody power of propaganda.

Will those troops be proud to be soon shooting the dogs that feed on the corpses they create in Iraq? Will the sound of brass bands be playing in their heads as the smell makes them ill?

The little fuhrer will hide behind his brainwashed troops to imply that protesting him was actually protesting the troops.

And that is so the protesters can be called dissidents and insurgents for when they call out the troops on our asses to do a 'Tienanmin Square' on us in 2005 to prevent civil war.

17. What about the Turn Your Back Campaign? Wouldn't
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 01:16 AM by KaliTracy
that be something -- as hundreds of thousands of us take to the street to greet our president, and we all turn around as he passes??? I see the Repugs being quite hostile perhaps, but we would BE ON TV, not off in a "controlled" zone (please, someone pinch me and wake me up --)
What could the Military do? Push us to turn around to show respect? How could they do that, and not look like control freak a-holes?

Calm, controlled free speech might be something to consider.

21. Maybe he should walk in a victory parade in Fallujah?
With no body armor like so many of our troops.

Then get back in his unarmored Humvee to take some victory laps through the IED laced streets.

Shit-they lost the ground war and don't even use roads in Iraq anymore, just flying supplies now.

My first love's nephew was just pushed into signing up by his parents and I'm livid. We must stop the neo-cons from stealing our kids like vampires to turn them into killers.
