Updated 12/13

(The next two posts contain the new letters used in the blaster.)

CONGRATULATIONS DU! 86,631+ EMAILS SENT!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=203&topic_id=161351&mesg_id=161351

We are off to a good start! In the past couple of days we have had reasonably balanced coverage from both AP and the NYTimes! Without a doubt, this is the best opportunity we have had since election day! <Could our 86 thousand plus emails influenced them?>

Now, we have an even greater opportunity to force more media coverage; and we have more “mainstream” type facts to help convince and build public awareness (the NYTimes article, the Affidavit, public hearings, Kerry asking questions, and a lawsuit being filed - links in next post below).

So we all need to take positive action now - today! If you’re in a big hurry, just send the first group of 98 contacts since it contains the biggest media (mostly TV).

New and Improved!

Now you can use the National Media Blaster to reach the top 98 national media contacts with just one click of your email send button!

And, if you choose, you can reach a total of 391 with just three more clicks!

1. LETTER TO MEDIA:
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 01:57 PM by tommcintyre
Subject: 2004 Election Fraud is very, very, very serious!

The story of 2004 Election Fraud is fundamental to American democracy, and includes the "privatization" of our election system (Bush supporters owning the secret, proprietary source code that runs the electronic vote tabulation machines all over the country--a condition made to order for fraud), overwhelming evidence of election fraud through control of electronic voting, severe vote suppression by Republican election officials against minority voters in Ohio and Florida, in plain violation of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and an on-going cover-up.

Currently, at least four very important stories are developing regarding 2004 Presidential election irregularities and election fraud. How you handle these and future stories is critically important for the American people and for your organization. Many Americans have lost faith in the U.S. mainstream news media, due to your failure to adequately cover the Bush administration's false justifications for the Iraq War, and many other important stories. You are strongly suspected of covering up Bush administration lies, corruption and deception.

The 2004 Election Fraud story is too big to “keep a lid on it.” If you do not give it the coverage it deserves, you will not only lose out as a news organizations, in competition with other news sources, including new alternative news sources on the Internet, but you will also be failing in your responsibilities as journalists and as Americans.

Here are the current stories:

1 - 12/15 NYTimes: Lawmaker Seeks Inquiry Into Ohio Vote - asks the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a county prosecutor in Ohio today to explore "inappropriate and likely illegal election tampering".
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/12/15/politics/15ohio.html?adxnnl=1&oref=login&adxnnlx=1103129347-Sb0Nn2xF7zbMB5Qax04QDA

- Proof of Ohio Election Fraud Exposed (TRIAD: Affidavit, Conyers letter, everything HERE)
http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/121604Z.shtml

The most damming evidence (in the Affidavit linked above):
"He advised Lisa and I on how to post a "cheat sheet" on the wall so that only the board members and staff would know about it and what the codes meant so the count would come out perfect and we wouldn't have to do a full hand recount of the county. He left about 5:00 PM."

2 - Representative John Conyers held a second forum on the Ohio election questions Monday, December 13th, in Columbus, Ohio concerning new evidence of election irregularities and fraud in Ohio. The many participants include other Congressional Representatives, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and key lawyers and witnesses in on-going election lawsuits.

3 - COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Democrat John Kerry has formally requested that county elections officials allow his witnesses to visually inspect the 92,000 ballots cast in Ohio in which no vote for president was recorded. The request is one of 11 items that Kerry is asking for as part of the recount that Ohio's 88 county boards of election will begin this week, according to a letter sent to the election boards over the weekend.
http://www.onnnews.com/Global/story.asp?S=2682767

- The investigation involves enough votes "to possibly change the outcome," according to an interview of lawsuit participants, with Laura Flanders on Air America on Sunday. (The interview should be available online on Monday, December 13th.)

4 – Alliance for Democracy Co-Chair Cliff Arnebeck filed a "Contest of Election" Lawsuit in Ohio Supreme Court early on Monday December 13th. Rep. Conyers sent a letter requesting injunctive relief of the Ohio electors - i.e., that they either step aside or vote provisionally pending the outcome of the case.

- Rep. Conyers et al.: Urgent request to Ohio Governor (et al.) to delay, or treat as provisional, choosing electors until recount is complete.

- Challenge asks Ohio's top court to review vote: "The challengers who went to the Supreme Court question whether Bush won the key swing state by 119,000 votes, guaranteeing his victory over Democrat John Kerry."... "The challengers allege unlawful ballots were added to the total and legally cast ballots were altered. Without listing specific evidence, the complaint alleges 130,656 votes for Kerry and John Edwards in 36 counties were somehow switched to count for the Bush-Cheney ticket."

2. "TELL A FRIEND" LETTER
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 01:58 PM by tommcintyre
I’m emailing you to ask that you join me in urging our national media to cover the 2004 Presidential Election problems. These problems are so serious that they have put the results into question. At the request of 12 Congressmen, the GAO (the Congressional investigative department) has agreed to an unprecedented investigation of the 57,000 reported irregularities. THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRAT, REPUBLICAN OR INDEPENDENT ISSUE. It is an issue that must concern all voters. It calls into question the results of the 2004 election, and potentially jeopardizes our future elections. Please go to the url below and send the following letter to our national mainstream media.
http://www.independentmediasource.com/voteintegrity.htm

P.S. If you would like to know more about all this, please watch the 12/8 and 12/13 Conyers Forums online (links below).

You can also read short summaries (or the full articles) of the Under-reported stories, and see for yourself how the National Media has been neglecting this important story (link below).

Sincerely,

10. what you need to choose from one of the the
two columns are you aol netscape(email) choose the one on the right.
then copy(left click to highlight and then right click to copy) the email addresses. Then move that to your email (compose) to.

then go back and copy the body of the letter and move that to your email letter(keep both pages open,it is easier)

then send. If that works and you feel overzealous then go for the next three sets of email lists below the first one you chose. I hope this helps, I am not that computer savvy but I was hoping someone else would answer your question.

The third on won't let me send it out all at the same time because there are to many going t one domain(LA times) so you can separate them.

good luck and kepp us posted on how you do.

I had the same problem with the 3rd one...too many LA Times addresses. Other than that, my only other issue was that I have to send number four later due to an hourly quota I wasn't aware of. Saved it as a draft for now...no biggie. Pretty painless. Thanks for the mediablaster.

15. Help! Something is fishy with my e-mail ever since I first used the
blaster. when I try to send the messages, I get this error:

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'ni2k_c@comacat.net'. Subject '2004 Vote Fraud? Don't Fail us Like 2000!', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 destination not valid within DNS', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I get this message no matter who I put in the "to" box. I am also now getting this mesage no matter who I try to E-mail or if I try to send a responce to any E-mail that I have recieved.
:wtf: Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

Does anyone have some solutions?

When I go to the Control Panel and check "MAIL", it displays my correct e-mail address.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Thanks.

17. Hmmm... I've sent out thousands of emails (test msgs), no problem.
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 10:11 PM by tommcintyre
and the first "participant" goes back to 11-23. No problem like this ever reported. In fact the only problem ever reported is that some messages come back undeliverable (an ongoing challenge since people get hired/fired etc.).

There is no "comacat.net" in the emails sent out. "The rejected e-mail address was 'ni2k_c@comacat.net'."

I think it is triggered by a domain name problem for you. I copied and pasted the error msg(Error Number: 0x800CCC79) into google, and here's the number one answer:

http://www.domainavenue.com/support_oe6_0x800ccc79.htm
How to deal with error number 0x800CCC79

When you try to send email messages you may receive an error message that your email cannot be sent due to SMTP relay blocking. The exact error message may vary, but it will be something similar to the following. The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was '<someone@some_domain.com>'. Subject: '<Test or anything>', Account: '<Test>', Server: '<remotesmtp.wyith.net>', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 <someone@some_domain.com>... Relaying Denied', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

The cause of this error is due to the fact that all our SMTP servers require authentication. Please consult the "SMTP authentication settings" and "special settings for MSN, AT&T, AOL.com or Cox.com users" section in the domain manager <link next>.

I can put my conspiracy theory away for my fear that someone was messing with the e-mail systems of activists...at least for now. Thanks again. :smoke:

26. Is there a letter still in your outbox? That's what it sounds like ...
keeps trying to send it and can't. You might be able to go to your outbox (or the equivalent) and check ... delete the message if there's one there.

Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 05:03 PM by tommcintyre
Tell the U.S. Senators you want them to contest the Presidential election!
The U.S. Representatives are ready to do it. All it takes is just one Senator to sign on too! In 2000, not even one would! Let's not let this happen again! Email them all and let them know how you feel!

http://www.independentmediasource.com/senatevote.htm

Tell YOUR U.S. Senators you want them to contest the Presidential election! <etc>
http://www.independentmediasource.com/senatevote_individ_sa.htm

They are both functional (have been used many times already); but they need some fine tuning - especially the group one. It returns a bunch of "undeliverables" (19 and growing). More and more Senators are going to form mail. I plan to have them fine-tuned by Sunday.

As far as the House of Rep goes, that may not get done for a while. It's very large, and again many have gone to form mail, so I won't do it until I'm fully satisfied with the Senate one.

In the next couple of days, I will probably make an "express" National Media Blaster. It will be based on the C-Span one (link below). Everything done in about 2 seconds (no copying and pasting). The trade-off will be: very limited pre-prepared text (like the C-span one - one short paragraph), and less media blasted (in the seventies?) I will do this because not enough people are responding to this one here; and they jumped all over the C-Span one - commenting many time how easy it is (sigh). I prefer they use this one, but if they use the Express one, its still waay better than if they don't send any email at all. ( I will keep this longer version here - I will just give people a choice (similar to how they can just send set one now). Hopefully, once they see how easy it is, they will become users of the "long version" (which takes under 5 minutes to send all 391).

I just love getting back all those replies from media desks all over the world. Just knowing that someone somewhere is having the in-box flooded by mail from us makes me feel really good and hopeful that maybe someone will stop for a minute and think about what an impact their decision could make in the world. Call me an optimist but I truly believe that most people selected journalism, media and reporting because of their desire to make a difference and tell the truth from a place of integrity.

Not likely, they would lose too much mail, and would have to include too many words (look at the drop-down menus of titles to see what I mean.) Also, the auto-reply means they recieved your mail.
