Election Official Thwarts Recount Using Phony Vote Totals

In the Middle Ages it was “God’s Will.” Today its "a computer glitch.”

Even as testimony indicated a Florida computer firm was asked to create a program to 'hack the vote' at the request of a top Florida Republican, a “mistake” in the office of the seriously-compromised Supervisor of Election in Pinellas County spiked hopes for a state-wide recount in Florida that might have thrown a spotlight on dark corners of the election process critics say hide widespread and even systemic vote fraud in the Sunshine State.

Recounting the state's gambling initiative offered the opportunity to correlate the results with tallies from the Presidential election.

But when Deborah Clark's official tally recorded 34,000 more votes for YES on the gambling initiative than were actually cast, the margin was sufficient to legally preclude a mandated recount. Supervisor of Elections Clark's husband, a longtime top executive with the election company counting more than half the U.S. vote, must have breathed a sigh of relief...

Richard Clark probably had more to lose from a recount than almost anyone alive.

2. You're kidding, another glitch that favors the Repugs?
You know before the election they were swearing on a stack of bibles that these fancy and expensive electronic voting systems were totally reliable.

Yep, we were going to have faith based elections from now on and everything was going to be great.

Next time I'll take paper instead of vapor, please?

Pt. I: Convicted Felons, ‘Shadowy Financiers' Own Companies Counting Votes

November 15 2004-Venice,FL.
by Daniel Hopsicker

An investigation into the surprisingly-sordid history of America’s “election services industry” has revealed that executives and owners of the two largest companies, E S & S and Sequoia Pacific, have been convicted of bribery and suborning public officials in more than a dozen states.

And while a felony conviction may be enough to prevent you from voting in Florida, convicted felons can take heart in the fact that the “blemish” on their record in no way disqualifies them from owning companies counting the votes.

In fact, the word ‘coverup’ itself was invented to describe the activities of the original owner of Sequoia Pacific, "shadowy financier" Lewis Wolfson, who got caught bribing no less a personage than a Supreme Court Justice of the United States of America.

While Abe Fortas was forced to resign in disgrace, no such harsh fate befell Wolfson. When you own a company that counts the votes, politicians smile more kindly on you than they might otherwise... and for good reason.

I'm not all that familiar with Daniel Hopsicker,
but the election articles were compelling I thought, and contain some valuable info.
