Senator Maria Cantwell: A good choice to pester about the Electors?
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 12:30 AM by WilliamPitt
Got this email:

==

I handed a copy of Proof of Ohio Electon Fraud Exposed to Senator Maria Cantwell
today along with the beautiful letter Michael Moore wrote to all of us on his web
site yesterday.
She spoke to a small classroom of 3rd and 4th graders at the school I teach in. I
wore an orange ribbon with the words OHIO written on it around my neck and held
together with a Kerry Edwards pin--very quiet way to let her know how I was feeling.
I made the comment that I hoped she was paying attention to what was going on in
Ohio and to let John Kerry that we need him now. She said she is also thinking of
our election here of course and then went on to talk about the disenfranchisement of
African American voters in Ohio and how she thought this needed to be looked into.
Wow, pretty good info for elementary age students...anyway thought you would like to
know.

Whadaya think?

1. Don't hold your breath
Cantwell is a cold one...IMHO.

She was real cool to electronic voting issues last summer when I approached her at the state convention.

2. I'd expect better response from WA Sen. Murphy more than Cantwell
However, I really think everyone should email, call, and fax all their Senators. Imagine how awesome it would be if a large number of them challenged the election. And perhaps there would be saftey in numbers for them? Or maybe it doesn't work that way.

4. They're all protecting themselves
not US. Some "representation" we've got in this country. Hah.

15. I've was hoping they'd find 'strength in numbers'...
I've been emailing them. But also visualizing...first one, then two standing up...then all. (Okay, a kid can dream.)

5. She wouldn't be my first choice
I'm one of those pesky people who writes her senators all of the time. I *always* hear back from Patty Murray, and I think I've maybe gotten one letter or email in four years in return from Maria Cantwell.

6. Let's all organize groups of constiuents and get appointments
to meet with our Senators on this issue. If we make our case in person--preferably in very large numbers--we'd have a better shot at persuading one or more to discover that they actually do have backbones.

I left a message at Barbara Boxer's office today and said I have a group of constitutents who want to meet with her on this issue. No call back yet, though, which isn't a good sign.

16. I think Boxer would more likely do it.
Feinstein seems more 'moderate.' Could be wrong.

9. VERMONT: 150,000 supporters....
...is all it takes to carry a Senatorial election in Vermont.

What if we got the message out very strongly in Vermont. How many Vermont voters do you think we could get to mail one of the Senators there and tell them they will not be re-elected if they do not challenge?

Think about what you know about Vermonters...

13. Wow. I think that is a great idea. Focus on the small states
where we can show real numbers that would make a difference to a re-election and then focus on the big blue states like CA where it plays well. A two prong approach would be excellent.

11. Well, the new Congress is sworn in on January 3...
I think it would be better to go for Barrack Obama, in that case!

B-)

sounded like you were almost ready to move on.

I like this one better! Keep up the good work! 'Keep hope alive.'

17. Sen. Byrd
Wouldn't you think Byrd would step forward? Where was he in 2000?

18. You know...you might have something there
You see...I think we need to get a group of them in on this...a stand alone Senator is just suicide...but a pact, that would be good

19. Sen Byrd or Sen Inouye
I always wondered why Sen Byrd didn't step up in 2000.
Maybe now is the time for him.
Or what about Sen Inouye?

What's up with that?

21. I started a page in Demopedia where this info can be stored/used
the page is called something inelegant like "Page Targeting Senator To Get Involved Election Fraud". (and that is not to get involved WITH election fraud but rather doing something about it...I will edit it later). Seems to me I have seen about four similar threads over this last week and a half. We need to actually move this topic forward and settle on some strategy and focus on some Senators. Rather than let this topic sink again -- I suggest we all get our passwords for the Demopedia and then start adding to this page and honing in on the Senator or Senators to bother. If someone has a better idea however I am open to that and if this page in Demopedia is a dupe then feel free to replace my page.
