Election aftermath -- pro-lifers atop Senate Dems and DNC?
Reid is pro-life and so is Roemer, who has the backing of both Reid and Pelosi. They're both pro-corporate as well. Here's a thread covering the details (LBN):

Does anyone think we're going to have real balance against the right wing if the result of this election is to have conservative Democrats take over the leadership positions in the party?

This looks bad to me.

What do you think?

4. Why in the flying fuck ....
would the Dem leaders think that things would be better for the party to become more like "Republican Lites"?

5. Dems should give up gun control issues
and they would regain a lot of voters who fear government

6. Isn't this metro versus rural thing, when you get down to it? Meaning

in cities, guns are used to kill people. In rural settings, they are used for hunting. I don't have the stats, but believe there are some studies showing where people are more likely to worry about guns and gun laws, and it is a classic city/sticks kind of division.

7. Yes! "Pro choice" on BOTH guns and abortion!
That's pretty much where I stand. I'd like to see the similarity between the two issues pointed out by the Dems... in both cases, it's not whether you're for or against, it's whether the government has a right to decide FOR you.

8. Pro-Birth. They support death penalty,
sending 18 yr olds to war, bombing women and children.......
They oppose health coverage, gun control, ending war on drugs........
just Pro-Birth....Not Pro-Life

9. Dems Are Not Relevant, Outlasting the Revolution In Question
We do not need the Dems for ANYTHING. It is up to We The People and revolution is the big picture goal. Afterwards, perhaps there will be some honest and principled people who wish to organize under the banner of Dem. That would be OK, but it is not guaranteed and we should definitely not assume it is necessary. The same goes for the Reps.

Focus on what you can do rather than on what you assume others will do, or what you think you can make others do. Otherwise, we will be engaging on their terms and forever perpetuate the status quo.
