Don't laugh, I emailed Trent Lott

Here is the email that I sent:


Dear Senator Lott,
I am your cousin--3 or 4 times removed I believe. I fall down from the Bartholomew Lott branches while I am told you fall down from the Pieter Lott branches. Regardless, I did want to compliment your position to replace Rumsfield sometime in the near future. I believe he is a detriment to our troops. Whether you know or not, you do have a vested family interest in this war. Several of your cousins are fighting in Iraq:

XXXXXX is my brother. He is 21 years old. This is his second tour over there and has made the rank of Sgt. I am proud of the man he has become, but I am ready for him to come home to us. I pray that our troops will be brought home soon from this quagmire.
If you are interested and don't already have the information, I have much of the family tree that is traced back to the first landings of the Lott's in America--and their departure from their homeland if you would like me to send it on to you.
On another front however, I would like to ask you to help stand up for democracy. Our election had so many irregularities in it that I for one would like to see a full accounting of the election process. One Senator needs to ask for that and I am imploring you to be that one Senator to stand up for the ideals of this country.
Regardless of the outcome, I just want a committment that every vote was counted and that there wasn't one vote disenfranchised.
Will you be that Senator?
