The swiftboat vets are coming, the swiftboat vets are coming, oh an OBL 2!
A brief recap of todays voter events.

And you thought it was all over, well it's not. The swiftboat vets are back in the spotlight.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041216/ap_on_go_co/miller_swift_boat&cid=512&ncid=2043
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041216/ap_on_el_pr/bush_kerry_managers&cid=694&ncid=2043

They are being honored by Zel and surprisingly, by Kerry's campaign manager Mary-Beth Cahill. What an odd time to be resurrecting the swift vets. Didn't we just have a lawsuit thrown out?

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041216/ap_on_el_pr/ohio_vote&cid=694&ncid=2043

Well not exactly, turns out it was just a stall, but excellent headline. I guess the fact that they even bothered to mention the story is good enough.

I just worry about those swift vets popping up just when Kerry is coming back into the spotlight. Nah, nothing to see here.

Also. OBL is back for round 2. Geez, we don't here from him for the longest time and now we can't get enough of this guy. I mean this guy is like Aerosmith. Just when you think they're dead, they come out with a smash hit.
http://story.news.yahoo.com/fc?cid=34&tmpl=fc&in=World&cat=Osama_bin_Laden_and_al_Qaida

You know, the conspiracy nuts don't really like this guy at all. They keep trying to blame 9/11 on him. Did you read this,
"In that statement, he for the first time clearly took responsibility for the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States and said America could avoid another such strike if it stopped threatening the security of Muslims."

Yes and I was the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll. Oh they make me laugh.

It also seems like Iraq will definitely get to have elections as well. Yes, dear friends in Iraq, we are going to show you how to have an election, baby. Just you wait. Believe us, your vote will matter. Whooo... Yeah.... Okayyyy.... No seriously, it will, I mean, really.

The real bummer for the election fraud people came from a different source.
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=509&ncid=509&e=15&u=/ap/20041216/ap_on_bi_ge/hershey_prices

Yes, Hershey's raising prices for chocolate. Those fuckin Nazi fascists. They know what happens between me and a bag of Hershey kisses. It's late at night, the kids are down, and it's just me, a canvass report or two and my sweet bag of Kisses. They think they are so good, I'll do anything? Well, they're wrong. Mostly. I probably won't like ever buy them again, most likely not.

Sincerely,
Michael Lewis

Defense seeks emergency authority to resume anthrax vaccinations

By Chris Strohm
cstrohm@govexec.com
The Defense Department has asked the Health and Human Services Department for emergency authority to resume its anthrax vaccination program for military personnel, Government Executive has learned.

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz issued a Dec. 10 memo asking HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson to declare an emergency in order to justify using the vaccine for protection against inhaled anthrax. The military's anthrax vaccination program was suspended in late October by a federal judge in response to a lawsuit filed by six anonymous plaintiffs. The lawsuit argued that the vaccine was not proven to protect against inhaled anthrax, and led to health problems.

In the memo, Wolfowitz said he has "determined there is a significant potential for a military emergency involving a heightened risk to United States military forces of attack with anthrax."

"In making this determination," Wolfowitz added, "I have considered a classified November 2004 Intelligence Community assessment of the anthrax threat. This heightened risk has been and continues to be the basis for the DoD program of vaccinating personnel serving in the areas of the Central Command and Korea."

8. His passivity is extremely puzzling
Even when I traveled abroad I was having to explain that Kerry wasn't a wuss. Thanks to the MSM and Cahill's passive strategy people actually believed those thugs were on the level. I am reserving final judgment but Kerry's whole approach to this election has been puzzling. Let's hope it's a rope-a-dope with a devastating end game.. but....

12. Kerry should have (& still should) come out swinging against these people
and have all the people behind him in the military (ie. retired Admiral Crowe, Wes Clark etc - heck even McCain) and just blast these people for what they are and all the ties to money from Texas...

Repukes loved these guys and loved it even more when Kerry didn't fight back...even several Dems I know who supported Kerry mentioned at one point "If Kerry can't stand up and defend himself against these liars, how could he defend our country?" "Also, there must be some truth in these things if Kerry doesn't counter and fight back"

I didn't have an answer for them...they had good points...and its precisely that question that would linger in people's minds, especially in swing states where they were being bombarded with the swiftboat lies ads....

13. I have been thinking a lot on this
Kerry had a good segment of the military brass behind him and probably half of the State dept (the ones that didn't already resign). Now granted he won the election anyway but what could possibly have been the downside for calling the liars out? Say- Put up or shut up! If someone can find one let me know- because the only conclusion I can come up with doesn't bode well for what's left of this democracy. And I damn well hope I'm wrong..

11. They want to stay in the media spotlight, because this is their next
agenda according to the LA Times Dec 13, 2004

"Kerry Opponent Taking Aim at New Target: Iran"
* Swift Boat author wants to prepare the public for what he sees as a likely war with the nation.

WASHINGTON — Jerome R. Corsi, a leader of the Swift Boat Vets and POWs for Truth campaign against former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John F. Kerry, is hard at work on his next political project: preparing American public opinion for what he sees as a likely war with Iran.
"The world cannot tolerate the potential that these mad mullahs would have a deliverable nuclear weapon, even one, secretly developed," Corsi said in a recent interview. "They might just launch on Tel Aviv. The moment the world intelligence community becomes convinced that could happen, either the U.S. alone or the U.S. plus Israel or Israel alone will seriously contemplate a preemptive strike, and I'd be in favor of it."

then

Corsi said he had not discussed his views on Iran with Bush administration officials, though he said he would not rule out doing so.
Corsi plans a tour to promote his Iran book and can expect a large audience on talk-radio shows and other media.
"We'll devise a strategy to bring the manuscript to the media; we'll have websites to be developed," Corsi said. "I see a similar movement building to the one built around the Swift Boats. I think there's a similar large reservoir of sentiment among the nearly 900,000 Iranians living in America that a regime change in Iran is necessary to bring freedom to Iran."
Corsi is an advisor to the Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran, run by Texas-based Iranian exile Aryo Pirouznia.

16. You've got to be fucking kidding me.
So then why is Cahill sort of praising them? Is the intent to defend John Kerry because of the spectre they have cast over him, real or not? What's her intention?

Or rather, what's Kerry's intention since she works for him? It's puzzling. More mental masterbation I guess.

I can just see the swiftvets ads for attacking Iran.

An older man sits in a chair in front of a black screen.

A picture of an Vietnamese soldier materializes and the man speaks.

"This is Charlie. He didn't understand our cause. He didn't understand freedom and democracy."

The picture morphs into a picture of an Iranian, same uniform, different patches and background.

"This is Anchmen. He thinks killing you is the only way to get to heaven. He thinks that by slaughtering your children, his god will grant him immortality with 40 virgins. He doesn't understand our cause. But he will."

Cut to a scene where stealth fighter planes materialize out of thin air and drops 30 MOAB's on a village. (Just use some stock footage from Fellujah, good enough)

The scene changes to a press conference with the President in the oval office.

"My fellow Americans, these evil doers really do have Weapons of Mass Destruction. I know you heard this one before but seriously, they really really do. We need to go in there and blow the hell out of 'em. Unfortunatly, we are going to have to start the draft. I know I said I wouldn't but it's another war, a new set of rules. I need the American people behind this one.... What in Tar-nation"

A newscaster interrupts his speech with video footage of Cleveland, Ohio in smoking ruins.
"We interrupt this message to bring you the following breaking news.
Cleveland has just been the target of a chemical attack carried out by Osama bin Laden. Fortunately, we have captured all the suspects within moments of the attack and there needs to be no further information other than the fact that it is appearant that the attackers were Iranian Al Qeada. We now return you to the President."

"People this is serious, the people who gassed those people will hear all of us soon. Now I want you all to go shopping and don't worry. Now, Let's ride!"

17. She's saying that she underestimated and was beaten by them, that's giving
them some respect. That's saying, "Man, you guys kicked our ass." That's honoring someone. What about saying, nothing.

Or what about saying,"We are still analyzing our defeat and the impact these Swiftvets had on our campaign."

Not, "Yeah, you won. That's why we lost. Yup. Golly"

It's an odd statement she made. Why say anything? What has them so concerned that they needed to make a statement?

19. what i am hoping is that bush and his cronies
won't be around in february(i feel drunk when I spell that)
to be passing out awards.

did anyone else see footage yesterday( I think on Hardball) about Bush giving out some medals to the very people who were bashing him and the efforts in Iraq. Kind of a "just shutup medal",I 'll se if I can find the story. Why are they handing out medals all of the sudden?

i am a veteran and I voted for Kerry and I think in almost any given incident there are going to be varying opinions of what happened.so I just never took the swift boat crap seriously and maybe that is what Kerry thought too , is no one would.
