NJ electronic vote may have been padded
This doesn't come from any article, just some weird observations. In Ocean County (my county)In 2000 more people voted for Gore than Kerry in 2004. People voted overwhelmingly for Bush in 2004 by about 50,000 more votes than in 2000. 67% voted in 2000 73% voted in 2004. Much more than 6% difference went for Bush. I looked this up because they said 60% of the county went for Bush. In 2000 if Nader didn't run Gore would have beaten Bush by about 4000 votes providing Nader votes went for Gore. This is a Republican county but I have noticed many anti Bush and pro Kerry bumper stickers and people were lined up outside waiting to vote and they were all bitching about Bush. Yet almost 2 to one Bush took the vote in my district.

1. I remember the weird polls right before the election showing NJ for chimpy
I wondered if they were trying to steal the NJ vote for Kerry, or maybe set up a distraction while they cheated elsewhere.

There's evidence that the chimp-vote was illegally padded nationwide, to make sure he "won" the popular as well as electoral college vote.

Suppose they hadn't succeeded in "winning" Ohio, for instance. Then Kerry would win the EC. If they could show that chimpy "won" the popular vote they would have fought the EC tally.

2. speaking of NJ
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 11:22 PM by Faye
i'm from NJ, south jersey. i actually had a SOMEWHAT strange experience when i went to vote. the election official told me which line to get in (it was empty basically, it was 7am) - i got into the line for my precinct, and when i went up to the table for the guy to look for my signature in the poll book, he got to the page where my sig. was and went to turn to the page, as if he didn't see it. i'm not sure if it was intentional, he was an older guy, at least almost 70 i thought - so maybe he just didn't see it. but thank god, i saw it right away, and before he could flip the page, i blurted out 'that's me, right there' - and then i signed and voted. we had electronic voting - but not e-touch screens. but there was no paper trail. i can never be sure if my vote went through or not, or where the hell it went, but from i know, in my area, we didn't have many problems. the people around here are very nice.

but that was wierd, that he almost skipped over my signature....

3. Most of the people running the voting booths are old.
Most of the citizens are old in Ocean County.

5. the old folks in my town used to always send me to the wrong book....
and it wasn't an accident, the books were sorted by address #'s- odd and even. they always sent me to the reverse, with older folks they never did this. it happened like five years in a row, and it was always me that explained i knew what was what. a lot of people let them off the hook becasue they were old, but they were also connected with city hall, the police dept, the school system- they were in it to keep the jobs and power for their own.
but my town was always corrupt. they didn't want the "newcomers " as the called us to vote. many new voters just ripped out of the books, lots of names being sold on election day. i've heard we are in a textbook in law school.
our last mayor is in jail now.

4. My hair dresser was denied a provisional ballot and sent to
Ocean County Court House where she had to wait 4 hours to beg a judge to let her vote. She always voted in OC and always at the same polling place, but walla, her name was not in the book, scratched because they found she had a Rutgers U. P.O. Box - All RU students have a P.O. box - I certainly did. After proving her address in OC, the judge let her vote - provisionally of course. She said there were about 100 people in the court house, most of them were elderly blacks - some of them in tears she said it was very sad.

8. I registered my kids to vote, didn't ask them , I just did it.
I said here sign this you are voting in November. I got my info as I always do but my kids didn't. I called them and made sure my kids were on the rolls. The guy said he was getting many complaints from new voters not knowing where to go. I told him I know where to go but I wanted to make sure they had my kids registrations. Do you actually believe over 60% of Ocean County went for Bush? I don't, not when in 2000 51% went for Bush and because of Nader Gore lost the popular vote here.
