3. When it comes time to file their state income taxes...
People should send in a note saying the state was "Simply too late to be asking for money" and attach a copy of that ruling with "No taxation without representation" written across it.

4. These insane court decisions....and with the thing standing like
this:

Gregoire +553
Rossi +554

with 37 of 39 counties reporting

http://vote.wa.gov/general/recount.aspx

I'm sputtering in frustration over here. :(

6. Ludicrous ruling; count some legal votes found but not others by judge cho
A recount is to recount all legal votes to determine whether some votes were miscounted or left out of first count. Many new votes not included before were found and added in several counties. Excluding legal votes counted in a large Dem county in the recount preferentially because they are Dem is not a finding one can get to by quoting a law. Its a clearly discriminatory ruling by the judge based on who the judge prefers to be Govenor, rather than based on equal rights under law of legal voters to have their votes counted. Says its ok to discriminate against legal voters as long as they are Dems.

8. It is ludricrous...which is not to say it might not stand up in a
court of law. Not being a lawyer I have no idea what Washington state law looks like for this matter. If the statutes read like your description of a recount (which I thought was clear and full of good sense) then the ruling can't stand up to an appeal.

I hope that's the case. With Gregoire so close now even without those contended ballots the King County recount might be enough to push her over the top. The the Republican squealing will be heard across the nation.

9. Several judges have dealt with this case already.
Edited on Fri Dec-17-04 07:48 PM by pa28
Until now they have been reluctant to make any rulings that could be decisive to the outcome instead favoring a thorough vote count.

They 'pukes shopped around for a friendly judge willing to take it upon herself to toss out 700 valid votes and possibly tilt the election. The state supremes cannot let this stand in good conscience.

10. And THAT judge is WAAAY friendly!
She's got a background in REAL ESTATE LAW, once working for a large firm specializing in Real estate and land use. Guess what Dino Rossi's claim to fame is?? YUP! Real Estate and Development. The fucker is supported heavily by ALL the real estate organizations of the state. Think that Arend's big donors are pals of Rossi??? You betcha.
