Urgent need for recount funds NM
Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 12:29 PM by God_bush_n_cheney
this came in my mail box this morning.

The Gov. of New Mexico is demanding $1.4 million or no recount in New Mexico. We'd like to have that money in the bank and then work out an agreement to start with just 10% of votes to see what we find. NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO SEND A NOTICE TO YOUR EMAIL AND CHRISTMAS LIST to tell them about our work and invite a contribution. People can donate on AuditTheVote.org.

Do with this what you will.

Looks like a fax...email and phone campaign opportuinity for DU.

Bill Richardson
Office of the Governor
State Capitol
Room 400

Phone: (505) 476-2200

E-mail him here

And for good measure E-mail fax etc the SOS as well

1. Why does it cost $1.2 million for a recount???
Washington has MORE people and they did the recount for governor for less.

The New Mexico Govenor is lying.

2. unless i'm missing something
The $1.4 million Richardson requested had to be submitted by 10:00am Thursday morning. I'm not sure if a delay was given but I doubt it. This sounds like old news.

5. The case was rejected by a lower court, but the last I heard
was that it is being appealed to the State Supreme Court (issue over whether the $114,000 deposit is all that is required to conduct the recount as was apparently agreed to at the beginning of all this). We've already seen a backoff from a full recount to a partial recount from our side...

4. yep, i guess it's fair to assume that we'll do the typical murkin thing
and put money on it instead of actually doing something, like get up off our lazy, self-involved butts and take to the streets to save ourselves/our planet.

they left it "to the voters." ha hahaha haha!!

we all be sitting here waiting for daddy to save us!!!

ha hahaha haha!!

btw, thank you for all you've done and all you do, God_bush_n_cheney.

peace

7. And for heaven's sake DONATE!
The Help America Recount Fund is responsible for making this recount happen ... and believe me, it NEEDS to! Our attorneys are representing Cobb and Badnarik, and we have a full field operations team on the ground coordinating 800 volunteers.

PLEASE DONATE to help convince Richardson that we're dead SERIOUS about this recount. The more we can collect this weekend, and the more people who donate, the persuasive the case that his political future is at risk if he doesn't stop stonewalling!

We have a great compromise offer submitted, where we would get a meaningful recount of 10% of the precincts of our choice for their outrageous price of $2 a ballot ... which is about what we paid the SoS weeks ago. We have a list of stringent requirements about what constitutes a meaningful recount when electronic voting machines are used. Then, if the 10% shows changes that ... if extrapolated out to the entire state ... could overturn the election, we'd have the option to go for the full state recount at the full price.

There's only 6,000 votes separating Bush and Kerry in the official results, 20,000 votes cast on evoting machines in precincts that went heavily for Kerry are missing a vote for president, and there are 1,200 more votes than voters in Bush counties. There's much more in our summary report at http://helpamericarecount.org/NewMexicoData/NewMexicoGeneralElection.pdf.

Please donate to show Richardson that we mean business. http:www/helpamericarecount.org
