Why Can't Edwards Un-concede? |
|
I was just listening to Laura Flanders, and heard, once again, that Edwards really wanted to fight this election, but was overruled by Kerry.
So, assuming that Kerry isn't furiously working behind the scenes, why couldn't Edwards come out and contest the Vice-Presidential Election. If it were proven that fraud cost him the election, wouldn't it follow that Kerry would be proven the winner as well?
So why doesn't Edwards hold a press conference, withdraw his concession, claim that Cheney stole the election from him, and start litigating?

But they have meaning as far as media coverage is concerned.

3. Pres. and VP elections are distinct |
|
The college elects both of them seperately - they needn't be from the same party, have run together, or anything like that. Though, in practice, they run as a "ticket" it is, per the law, each man for himself, as they say.

6. Bush and Edwards. interesting combo. |
|
Somehow I don't think that would help Edwards' political future. I see the constitutional point though.

As a PR move for the election-fraud meme, it would be brilliant. Politically, he would have shot himself in the foot, were Kerry not, in fairly short order, publically aboard with the idea. Edwards does not seem to me to possess the 'shoot-in-the-foot-gene'.

9. Unless Kerry leads, he'll stay low profile also |
|
He wants to run again for Pres. The best way to do this is for him to go back to private life and rebuild his personal base within the Democratic party. The same strategy Nixon used in the years before the 68 election, Spend the next few years building up party IOUs and then collect on them in 2007.
