7. Thurman was wonderful on AAR...
He was talking about his book on 'anger' and how Buddhism means taking conscious action -- which means that we don't let anger control our actions, but in appropriate situations we do act from our anger. And he oh-so calmly worked in a brief comment about this election having been stolen.

:-)

Download and FF to 38 minutes for Robert Thurman. After that, get another treat of a Dittohead admitting he was wrong.

14. he tells a funny story
on some tapes I have of his lectures (he is a great teacher of Tibetan Buddhism and very entertaining). He was at a gathering of religious teachers of all faiths, and was interpreting for a Tibetan Monk who spoke no english. The Monk was speaking to a Christian, and asked about "how Jesus could be the son of God, if God is God, why not have many, many sons, after all, he is God?" Thurman is interpreting all this, and the Christian explained to the Monk about the Trinity, and Jesus, the only son,and blah blah blah. Then the Monk said somthing and Thurman started laughing and laughing. The Christian asked "what did he say?" and Thurman mumbled something like, "Oh, he said that is very interesting". Then on the tape, Thurman says that the Monk really said "well I guess the old boy only had one good shot in him".
