SNL -- RED STATES: DUMBASSISTAN....NOW..
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 12:08 AM by EMunster

Ultimately it's supposed to be a parable about "labeling" but they don't get to that moment without line after line dissing the red states.

7. At the end, they make nicey....
They get to the house of a girl who lives in a blue state and tell her what's up, and she cries...so they go to the red states and deliver gifts...of Al Franken and Margaret Cho's cds!

Not a bridge builder....but it was funny.

5. The United States is PURPLE
Edited on Sun Dec-19-04 12:12 AM by Straight Shooter
The red vs. blue theme is a media deception which is designed to pit one of us against the other, all across America. Please don't buy into it. I'm in a "blue state," in a "red county," and in a "blue neighborhood."

Don't let them divide us. We are the United States of America, even if we look like a bunch of squabbling chickens to the objective observer.

edit: I just found out this thread is about a Saturday Night Live skit, but we still look like a bunch of squabbling chickens :P

8. We are blue and red with shades of gray between but not purple

the middle men/women will make up the difference between us but they are suffering as we do under the neo-con's Amercian Axis of Evil, I hope they wake up to this reality soon.

9. Absolutely right.
The "Red vs. Blue" is a Republican media creation to divide America and deflect from their criminal policies.

18. OT - extremely neat image in your post - did you paint it?
With a name like "cobalt violet," I wondered if you might be a fellow watercolorist. Is there a link where I could see more of the snake image in your post?

16. That map was funny, but the rest was kind of lame
Like SNL is now most of the time, just not funny.

These last two seasons have been horrible.

It seemed like while ripping on "red states" they were also caricaturing liberals, and putting us in a bad light.
