CJ@MSNBC.com oops with corrected linkcorrected link...
CJ at MSNBC says; "Tell us in 200-300 words what you think the "The Story of the Year" was. You can send us more than one".

Perhaps someone else may want to share their,"Story Of The Year"
and be a citizen journalist? send to- CJ@MSNBC.com .

My story of the year sent to CJ was:

"Voters Refile Challenge Of Presidential Results Challenge"

Backed By Jesse Jackson

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Voters who said problems with voting machines Nov. 2 indicated fraud refiled a request with the Ohio Supreme Court on Friday to overturn the presidential results.

The 40 voters cite reports of machine errors, double-counting of some ballots and a shortage of voting machines in predominantly minority precincts as reasons to throw out the election results.

The challenge is backed by the Reverend Jesse Jackson and Cliff Arnebeck, a Columbus attorney for the Massachusetts-based Alliance for Democracy, who accused the campaign of President Bush of "high-tech vote stealing."

3. My reply. Felt like venting.

The story of the year is the one that you underreported.

Although MSNBC was the network that had the most coverage of the single story with the most ground-shaking consequences for each and every American, the coverage was confined almost exclusively to a single program, "Countdown."

The media at large should hang their heads in shame for failing as a whole to apply the penetrating, evenhanded research and coverage that the viewing public so dearly misses. The failure to adequately address the concerns of 1/5th of America's voters that the 2004 election apparatus was broken and failed to count their votes, and the subsequent mysterious activities surrounding exit poll adjustments and recounts, stands emblematic of the fact that, these days, anyone who "glues themselves" to a major television news show, or in fact even a major newspaper is a complete fool.

Around the country, as a result of this dereliction, millions of viewers are finally cutting the last ties, and turning their backs on the mainstream of media for good. Congratulations, your carreer is over. Now that the cost-effectiveness of advertising on television is declining, see if the advertisers you cowtow to show you any mercy whatsoever.
