do we ever sleep?
Man, I never thought that just being passionately interested in something was more powerful than caffein. I swear I've slept about 3 hours a night since 11/2.

29. Did you catch Comedy Central last night - Laugh 2004?
God, it was hysterical, everyone slamming the weed and that bit about the guy transmitting to the weed's receiver during the debates! The crowd was so anti-weed it was great. If anyone watched that show, they would know the election was stolen. Nobody likes the weed.

In response to the question, do I ever sleep, rarely, not since Nov. 2. On a good night I get maybe 5 hrs. I will nap on Saturday as a luxury.

6. since 9/11
The 2000 election seemed to not add up with what I knew about exit polls and even recounts from just casually following the news all my life, but it seemed like we were just going to have four years of a more incompetent version of papa bush.

After 9/11, I've been online constantly because I feel like I'm going fucking insane.

I hear stuff on TV and commercial talk radio and even in papers that defies common sense, history, and even recent history. And every time I hear it, it's as if someone told me 2+2=5; and I wonder if they're right, so I count the beans again.

The scariest thing about this time unlike in Orwell's 1984, is that they don't have to go back and erase history. The facts are there to prove they lied, but they no one important will look, and if they look, no one will listen if they make noise about it.

We have freedom of speech but not freedom to be heard.

At least without the internet.

This, Air America, Pacifica, and Buzzflash are the thread that are keeping me from coming totally unglued.

10. Thanks for that article
I for sure won't be able to sleep, now...but thanks, I'm passing it on to others who are resisting some of the information that's summarized in this piece. Kinda prophetic, too, isn't it, since it was written before the election? Sums up all that I've been researching and trying to clue my family and friends into. And yes, I have not been sleeping well, actually, for about two+ years and even worse so since Nov 2.

12. I know what you mean
I was counting on Bush losing, so that the economy might improve, and I would be able to find a GOOD job.

Plus I was living a blissful life as a Buddhist, since November 7, 2000, I've been obsessed with running Bush out of office.

I remember the date, because it was on my birthday. Nixon v. McGovern, 1972 AKA Watergate, was on my birthday too.

called GWB...bacterial infections can be fought ... viral ones ... are resistant to conventional treatment. BUSHY2K has taken root and it is killing the oxygen out of democracy. So far no effective treatment to ward off the powerful infectious Y2K seems to have developed.

11. It's been a luxury lately
Funny you say that. I was up until 1pm Sunday (no typo, I meant afternoon) finishing the blaster below. This is not unusual anymore, usually the sun is up before I go to bed. Since right before the election, I even skip a night occasionally (getting four hours every other).

Happily, my health seems to be doing just fine - though I would never have considered doing such a thing before "the emergency". Apparently, we have untapped reserves available in time of dire necessity.

28. And I thought I was *late* in finding my stride.
I just started making a conscious effort to take a few hours here and there to recreate and to get something resembling a responsible level of shuteye. I should be back on a normal sleep schedule soon.

Folks, do yourself a favor, relax a little and have some fun. We don't want to have a bunch of burned out, shell-shocked soldiers on our hands, because win or lose on the Kerry front, and I do still hold some hope there, we only have 2 years to get the checks in place to balance the next election, and the bureaucracy isn't going to help in some places, not that they are competant enough to pull it off even if their hearts were in it.

People keep saying if we "lose" now, there won't be a need to even have a 2006 election. Well, I don't think you have to believe that in order to fight your hardest for victory today, so I'm not peddling that bullcrap. If we lose and give up, there won't be a need. If we fail to put our all in in the current fights, and lose confidence, there won't be a need. But if we grow and get more organized, and see that we have a supportive community and movement around us, we can take a lot of local, state, and federal seats through aggressive volunteer protection of the electorate and auditing. (Not to mention the PR boon that all these Repug shenanigans are going to be once they are dusted off on the campaign trail.)

2006 is going to require *massive* volunteer effort, the likes of which has never been seen before. 5K+ counties. Somewhere between 500K and 2M precincts. You do the math.

So pace yourselves. If you want, run full tilt till the 6th or till the 20th. But after that, for your own good, learn to live with the fight, and live well.

42. I hear ya...
I wish I had your problem! That way people wouldn't keep asking if there's something wrong with me. The answer usually starts a vicious circle ending in the fact that I'm obsessed (their words, not mine).

When I see Pure Evil, I just have an unconscious physical reaction! :)

Don't worry though -- just recently I've started eating everything I can get my hands on. :)

32. for well over 1 year I've been catching hell
I've been told I'm obsessed and I need to back away. I wont do it. I honestly feel I need to stand up until I'm sure we take control of our country again. I'm well aware that people usually aren't as outspoken and aggressive as me and feel I can stop most of these fascist repuke bastards in their tracks ( which I've done on too many occasion to speak of). They live by tough talk but few can actually carry it out (they feel they are tough in numbers...but I stand alone!)

Being honest and right will never lose out, it just takes a beating in the process!

34. Same here...
A 2-1/2 year relationship ended largely because of my 'obsession' over this. Of course, I disagree, I don't consider it obsessed as much as a sense of being called to do something and not just ignore what is happening...which is what so many people I know are content with. Not for me..

I've been getting no more than 5 hours a night since November 3, and I'm one of those weirdos who actually need about 9 hours to feel rested.

My 13-yr-old asked me the other day why I spend so much time on this site; "Like 4 or 5 hours every day!" he exclaimed. And he doesn't even see me checking it all day at work. ;)
