If the Democrats challenge the electoral vote on Jan. 6
will the story make a splash on world news, particularly Al Jazeera? How will that effect the perception of the Iraqi elections? Are the votes there being handcounted or counted with our wink-wink 'special' machines?

2. "Liberal media" (if it is covered) - in unison will be talking about
how whining losers Kerry/Edwards will again be trying to steal the election through the courts . . .

5. The Ayatollah accused us of rigging the Iraqi elections today.
Somehow we don't bat an eyelash at this possibility, but most people don't believe it when you tell them that our vote is every bit as rigged.

7. Kerry would probably cave just like Gore did when he sold out
the Congressional Black Caucus in 2000. I assume everyone
here will agree that Gore and all the Democratic Senators
were wrong not to co-sponsor the Black Caucus challenge, as
shown in Fahrenheit 911.

9. I know that, but would you not agree
that his asking them not to ended up being an unforgiveable betrayal of black voters and a complete failure as a political tactic?

Do you really think any of those senators had the right to ask black voters to continue to vote for them after they did that?

11. My wife will be representing us in DC on the 6th
Edited on Wed Dec-22-04 02:10 AM by GettysbergII
She's leaving Chicago with a delegation on the 3rd to hook up with Jesse Jackson and other state delegations in Ohio and then go on to DC to set up meetings with our senators and representatives on the 5th. Then rally in front of the capital building in support the action in congress on the 6th. I'm staying home with our daughter and going to work. Originally we were both going for the 6th but the delegation thing seems more important and I can't afford to take a whole week off right now in terms of time or money.

17. 1:00 pm i think
>>>>>>>>>>Venue for Counting Electoral Votes. The electoral votes are counted at a joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives, meeting in the House chamber. (The United States Code refers to the event as a joint meeting; it also has been characterized in the Congressional Record as a joint convention.) The joint session convenes at 1:00 p.m. on that day. The President of the Senate is the presiding officer (3 U.S.C. §15). The President pro tempore of the Senate has presided in the absence of the President of the Senate ( Deschler's Precedents of the United States House of Representatives , v. 3, Ch. 10, §2.5, recording that, in January 1969, Vice President Humphrey "declined to preside over the joint session to count the electoral votes.").<<<<<<<<<<

13. You think so?
I read how the Dems weren't all that united behind Kerry cause he didn't motivate his base, so they are being silent so Hillary can run in '08. I didn't make this up. Honest. I hope the CBC can get some peeps to stand by them this time.
