A copy of a letter to the Democratic Senators.
Below is a copy of the letter I sent out to a bunch of our Senators if anyone wants to use any of it. I think we need to bury them in requests:

Dear Senator

I am writing to ask that you and the other Democratic senators stand together on January the 6th and refuse to accept the votes from the electors naming George Bush as President. They must be challenged. They reflect the desires of a shameful, corrupt group of powerful people not the results of the majority of the American people.

I’ll not take your valuable time listing the methods used in the fraud, Representative Conyers has a good beginning of an understanding of how incredibly large an issue this is and would be glad to share some of his fact gathering. An examination of the election system is certainly needed but is not in itself a solution without a group of you as Representatives of our party being willing to stand up now and say “enough”.

This may very well be the last crack in time we have to return this nation towards Democracy, please choose the right thing to do and don’t roll over and die. I’ve concluded that from here on out my vote is worthless unless a change is made and because of this will not bother to vote again unless one is. I am not alone; I’m one of many feeling like this.

If you stand together, if you speak clearly we stand a chance. If you remain seated the nation will never forgive you.

Sincerely,

7. Because of what
HAVA has wrought, we can't be sure that our votes actually matter anyway.

I think it's time for them to stand up and show us that they're still alive, that we can still count on them to do what is right even if it does look like political suicide. Or course I also advocate for them to exercise the "nuclear option" until and unless the Republicans that have taken (not won) control of the senate are willing to listen to the (so called) minority party and work with them on legislative issues.

It's either take a principled stand for your constituents and show the administration and the rest of the world that all of America isn't on one band wagon, or you roll over and die.

To do anything less means we have succumbed to a totalitarian state.

Rewind to 1775.

The time for fix-it began on 7 Nov 2000 and could end on 6 Jan 2005 if members of both houses of the 109th Congress, strongly supported by the people, do not challenge the election of 2004.

We've got only a few fix-it days remaining.

Peace.

8. A Tennessean's letter to all US Congresspeople
Saturday night and (very early) Sunday morning, as I was getting ready for our second Gathering To Save Our Democracy in Nashville, I received two letters -- one from a Wisconsin friend who had participated in the Ohio recount and the other from a North Carolina retiree who had hoped to attend our rally but was being kept away by the bad weather. Their letters were so frightening and so moving that I decided to write every Congressman and Senator I could to share their letters with them. (I will finish that task tonight.)

The following is my introduction to that letter, excerpts from the Wisconsinite and North Carolinian letters, and my closing statement. We ALL need to be filling the emails of all our elected leaders these days. I hope what follows stimulates some of you to do the same. (BTW, I cc'ed all national MSM outlets with this letter.)
---------------
To our Congressional leaders:

Good Sunday morning. We are in the first stages of the second American Revolution. The integrity of our election process is in grave peril. You know it, and very soon, so will all the American people. What you do as an elected leader now to overcome the 2004 election fraud and theft will determine your political future and the future of our country.

Last Sunday, gatherings in almost 40 state capitals brought people together to speak out against this election fraud and theft. Today, in Nashville, Tennessee, we will meet again on the steps of our State Capital, and we expect many more people (and more media outlets) to join us. While it's unlikely that any of you will be there, I thought that each of you should read a report from one of the Ohio volunteers who drove from Green Bay, Wisconsin to western Ohio to participate in the so-called "recount" there. Her letter to me is a chilling documentation of at least two election laws violated with impunity and collusion during the "recount" by Ohio election officials. You will fear for our country as you read her letter.

But you may also be emboldened by the second letter I received this evening from a North Carolina retiree, who had hoped to drive eight hours (one way) to join us today but who may be kept away by the bad weather. When a gentle, elderly woman says that she will stop paying her taxes because she believes that the Bush administration holds power illegally, that should make all of us understand the gravity of what we face. Please join us as we fire our own rhetorical opening rounds in the second American Revolution, collectively and with conviction.

If you are a Democratic House member, please get behind the efforts of Representative John Conyers to demand full hearings on the massive evidence of election fraud and theft. If you are a Democratic Senator, please announce NOW your intention to stand in opposition to the highly questionable Electoral College results that will be presented to you on January 6.

If you are a Republican in Congress, please join with your colleagues in the House and Senate to demand an investigation of this election fraud and theft and to block the seating of a second (un)elected Bush administration whose power certainly is not derived from the "consent of the governed" (unless you consider electronic voting machines to be "citizens" with full voting rights now).

All of you have to decide whether you stand for democracy at this critical hour or whether you will be labeled by history as, at best, cowards and, at worst, accomplices in the highjacking of our election process. It's your choice. Now please read the two letters below (the names of the women who wrote me have been changed to protect them, but both of them will be happy to speak with you or your staffs if it will prevent the loss of our country to unelected election thieves.)

We will take our country back. Whose side are you on?
----------
Excerpts from the Wisconsinite's letter:

Nevertheless, it is striking that the volunteers were indeed able to compile evidence of numerous incidents that would lead any rational person to conclude that the Ohio election was riddled with fraud. Let's just begin with the illegal withholding of the poll registries. Ohio state law specifically states that such refusal to permit examination of these documents constitutes prima facie evidence of electoral fraud. Every county board of elections director in Ohio was ordered to commit this illegal act. As far as I know, all complied with this order, thus willingly becoming perpetrators of a crime that counts every American citizen as its victim. It may come as no surprise that every director with whom I had dealings was a Republican....

The most startling conversation I had was with the county prosecutor, who was present "to represent the county" at the recount I attended.... I was told by the prosecutor that the company supplying the tabulating equipment and software was Triad Systems. Here's the real shocker: Triad Systems had a technician in this particular county office the morning of the recount, before it started. He had disassembled the tabulator, and replaced "a switch" that had supposedly malfunctioned. He was lurking in the hallway outside the counting room during the entire recount....

Need I tell you that our observers were denied the right to inspect the voter registry from any precinct in the county, including the one used for the 3% sample? I think this may be a good thing, since this violation of law basically means that no valid recount took place.

I can't help but think that these types of scenarios were playing out all over Ohio this week, and that the discovery process in which we were engaged has surely produced enough evidence to establish probable cause in legal terms. I would be very surprised if there were not multiple suits filed at the county level in the coming weeks....
------------
Excerpts from the North Carolinian's letter:

The evidence of Electoral Fraud throughout the Nation on November 2, 2004 is overwhelming and irrefutable.

I like to believe I am well informed. I knew the Fox News Network was ideological. I knew about Sinclair. But not until the media blackout of one of the biggest stories in history; proof of massive election fraud in what was once the greatest Democracy in the world, did I fully appreciate the catastrophe that has occurred. It would be impossible to overstate the gravity of the situation.

Tens of millions of our Countrymen have no idea what has happened. We have to find a way to tell them and the ability to do so is available to us. One of the most simple and direct methods of communicating with others is for EVERY ONE OF US to put a sign in the rear window of our car declaring ELECTION FRAUD IN U.S. or even just VERIFY THE VOTE, with at least one website reference....

There isn't much time before this fraudulent election must be challenged. I believe the evidence is being amassed as quickly and thoroughly as possible to establish the basis upon which the Ohio Electoral Votes and the Election itself will be Contested in the Congress on or before January 6th, 2005. However, if this fraudulent election is not contested, if all our leaders fail us, then it will be in our hands, and ours alone, to do what must be done....

On April 14, 2005, if this unelected government remains in place, I will not pay my taxes. One of the most basic principles of the United States of America is "no taxation without representation" and I will be eager to engage the Internal Revenue Service in the courts to prove the American People are not represented by this government and present the extensive evidence of Election Fraud to prove it.
------------
My closing statement to the Congresspeople:

I can't think of anything in your entire political career that is more important than to honor the courage and the spirit of these two women by thwarting this nationwide election fraud and theft and helping us take our country back. Whose side are you on?

12. So far, only automatic responses. If I get a "human" response ...
I'll let you know. Pretty soon, the way things are going, only computers will vote. And since only computers seem to respond now to our letters to our elected representatives, maybe we'll end up cutting out the flesh-and-bone (we've already cut out a lot of the heart and brain) and elect the computers to represent us too.

The men and women in the Congress who stand up and fight this election theft will have my undying support, regardless of the party they belong to now. I already have a great deal of respect for the New England contingent of moderate Republican Senators and now is the time for them to lead our second American Revolution (against the Republi-Nazis and their machines).

11. Here's the letter I sent last week
Dear (my representative)

I am a graduate student in the astronomy department at (my school) and a registered voter in (my town).

I have grave concerns regarding the legitimacy of the 2004 presidential vote, and by extension, the health of our democratic process in this country. I am sure you are aware of the ongoing efforts of your colleague, Representative John Conyers, to investigate claims of voting irregularities and voter fraud during the 2004 election, particularly in the key state of Ohio. While I think it wise to remain skeptical with regards to claims of widespread election fraud--thus sticking to the principle that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"--I wholeheartedly applaud Rep. Conyers's efforts to collect and examine such evidence.

Such evidence is accumulating that significant numbers of voters in strategically important districts were disenfranchised in this election. Tactics range from old-fashioned methods of voter suppression in minority districts (through non-uniform distribution of voting machines, resulting in disproportionate waiting times) to the even more serious and abhorrent possibility that official election tallies were hacked in a central database. The noted discrepancy between the raw, "uncalibrated" exit poll numbers and the official election results warrants, indeed demands, a full explanation--particularly in light of the respect exit polls draw in every other country's elections (see Ukraine).

If the 2004 election was indeed tainted, this must be remedied. Now. Time is short. As I'm sure you know, the U.S. Constitution provides a means for Congress to contest the electoral votes on January 6, 2005. Too much is at stake to let the current administration enact its tragically inept policies without making sure the United States citizens did indeed give them their blessing.

I urge you, (my representative), to support Rep. Conyers in his efforts, and to pay close and careful attention to what he finds and concludes. Right now I consider him one of the few elected representatives who is actively guarding the principle that a legitimate government derives its power only from the governed. He should not be in the minority on this issue.

Sincerely,

(my name and town)

14. Excelent!
I think it's important that they do not recieve form letters.

This is the letter I sent last Friday. Oh hell, I'll just paste it in here, We should have a letters thread.

Senator :

I am a constituant of yours.

I believe that the Moss V. Bush case before the Ohio Supreme Court has merit. I doubt that your staff will have trouble finding it, but I reviewed a scanned PDF file of the case here: http://freepress.org/images/departments/Election_Contes ... Please inform me if this is not a true copy. I remind you that there is significant evidence yet to be presented in this case, and that discovery has not yet begun. The filing also mentions problems in 5 other States, but that court has no jurisdiction.

My familial history predates the founding of The United States. I likely have ancestors who participated in the Continential Congress (and later, others in the Wiskey Rebellion). The roots of patriotism run deep in me. I take this matter very seriously.

Although it appears to be a long held tradition in American Politics, I believe that the American people have evolved past the toleration of theft via electioneering (which is arguably an act of sedition). Just as they evolved past the holding of slaves, the denial of franchise to blacks and women, and et. cetera, we as a people can not continue to tolerate this behavior from our "elected" officials.

I am writing to inform you that I am here watching your continued inaction closely. Your actions are being documented and that documentation will be available when you seek re-election.

Already documented is your inaction in 2000 regarding the Florida Presidential election theft. I feel this is partially excusable because the Supreme court did rule on a case concerning the matter, but, that ruling stopped a recount effort that later showed that Gore actually won Florida.

These are specific public actions by you that I would like to see in the historical record:

Publicly declare that that you will delay the acceptance of Electors from any State until court cases concerning those electors are resolved.

Support the efforts of U.S. Rep. Conyers to open Congressional investigations into the problems in the 2004 election.

Work towards the immediate appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate the election irregularities in all States named in Moss V. Bush, and, others as uncovered. Ensure that crimes uncovered in that investigation are persued fully.

I have the utmost confidence in your ability to persuade your colleagues that failure to act on these issues will undermine further the confidence of the American People in thier republic. I fear that the best case result of failure to act on these issues will be the genesis of a grass roots effort to reject all incumbents in future elections. The worst case scenario could include widescale riots or an armed defense of the Constitution.

I will be outside The Capitol on January 6 to demonstrate my support for your anticipated courageous actions in this matter.

Please keep me informed and let me know how I may assist you in upholding your oath of office.

-Hoot
