5. Wow, good blog.
"It is at once touching and scary that I should have to explain why I’m not posting or on television on a given week." LOL, that's *us* he's talkin' to, heh!

He gives us an interesting "complete election fraud roundup." He points out that there isn't any EVIDENCE of fraud in Hocking with the Triad tabulators, but that the way it was handled was completely incorrect. "The evidence of holes in the security of the voting system big enough to drive a full-sized scandal through, is conclusive."

Interesting new assessment of Clint Curtis.

No update on Arnebeck -- I guess we'll just have to keep wait-and-seeing on that one.

Sigh. Once again, KO gives us what we love him for -- calm, reasonable, Reynolds-wrap free reporting on something that NO ONE THE FRIG ELSE will report on.

:loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: KO!

12. But to say there is no evidence of fraud in Hocking
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 10:36 AM by eomer
with the Triad tabulators is a bit disingenuous. The article begs the reader to conclude that the machine was examined and that if there had been any fraud it would have been caught. That's just not true.

KO is about all we've got for now but he always zings us here and there. The reason there is no evidence is because noone has been allowed to look at the machine or at the ballots or at the poll books.

It would be equally true to say there is no evidence that there was not fraud in Hocking with the tabulators. There's just no evidence either way because everything is locked down and out of sight.

edit for spelling

16. Exactly right
There's no evidence either way, although I still believe Eaton's testimony about the Triad-recommended (via the technician) 'cheat sheet' is compelling. At the very least, the machine's code should be examined.

22. Indeed, but what matters with this particular "computer" is, as you know,.
..it is attached to a puchcard reader -- it is the 'tabulator.'

The critical comparison is a hand count of the cards compared to what was recorded by the 'tabulator' before and after the illegal access to the computer occurred.

So, the access is an issue all by itself.

The issue of what may have been done is separate.

And, most importantly, those cards need to be counted by a person, not run through the 'repaired' tabulator.

Peace.

if you posted links to news stories, etc, to back up your assertions. Because, ya see, you're kinda new, no profile, and we don't know you. Not saying that your assertations aren't true, but backing things up with fact is always good, and would be helpful. :)

21. Right
Thank you, Congressman Feeney. :eyes: Still tearing apart Florida's congressional districts to give yourself a job? I guess the only way that could happen was to make sure your new district was entirely composed of your relatives and paid flunkies.

Let's see, according to KO's blog, we should believe all of this new 'info.' because Yang says so. Never mind that one of the owners' brother, a Yang employee, was found to be a Chinese spy stealing NASA info. and he was subsequently deported back to China.

Never mind that Feeney and Yang were closer than conjoined twins.

Never mind that the Yang lawyer who claims all of this nonsense is Feeney's former law partner.

Never mind that Curtis most certainly did not wait four years to tell his story, but has finally found people who are willing to listen - people who finally figured out that election fraud is a reality and worth investigating.

Just... never mind. Quick! Look over there! :eyes:

Try again. Much, much harder.

25. I sent this question
to Keith:

Hey Keith,
Lets not close the book on Hocking just yet. Did not Ms. Eaton claim in her statement that the Triad tech told
BOE workers to post his hand written tally totals in a place where only they could see them? And when the machine recounts were finished
regardless of their total the BOE workers were to draw their final numbers from this- secret out of the way tech supplied handwritten- total?

Just wondering,

28. I loved this paragraph:
3. The American media has a liberal bias:

I think we can pretty much put this one to bed. The mainstream media has so tiptoed around the voting irregularities stories that it’s deflated any reasonable belief that there are swarms of reporters bypassing facts to substitute their own agendas. Instead of a circus, the Conyers “voting forums” have received tepid coverage. Had there been a reversal of the poles in this political equation, of course, the impenetrable Sean Hannity would be in his 49th consecutive day of broadcasting without sleep, and by now would’ve already announced that Democrats from Outer Space had stolen the election.

31. Yes, that paragraph is great
and we all know it's the truth. I also liked what he had to say about Ann Coulter:

"have to throw this in somewhere. As noted previously, I am periodically harangued by a handful of official right-wing nuts.

They are remarkably entertaining - like listening to Ann Coulter, only without the audio accompaniment of her shrill whistle of hate - but one of them got me genuinely angry the other day, and made me doubt the value of our educational system."

LOL!

30. RAW STORY responds to Olbermann 'reporting'
Glad to see Olbermann looking at the story, but wish he'd actually do reporting.

###

http://www.bluelemur.com/index.php?p=509

Olbermann response to programmer’s affidavit fails to ask tough questions, note Feeney ties

This from Keith Olbermann, the lone ‘reporter’ on the voting irregularity beat. Olbermann gets responses from Feeney, who seems to laugh at Curtis’ claims and gently threaten NBC with legal action.

Olbermann, however, gets some facts wrong – that Curtis was a ‘disgruntled’ employee is certainly in the eye of the beholder; on his departure, he was thrown a party and the company, Yang Enterprises, is said to have asked him to stay on. It’s certainly possible, however, that Curtis became a disgruntled employee long after he left.

Olbermann fails to note that Yang Enterprises has already lied about employing an illegal alien who later tried to export sensitive missile technology to China. He’s also failed to ask the FBI about an alleged investigation into Yang’s dealings about knowingly employing an illegal alien and falsifying his employment status to get him security clearances at NASA.

Also curious is that Olbermann takes Yang’s lawyer at his word – who was previously Rep. Feeney’s law partner and gave $1,500 to Feeney’s 2002 congressional campaign.

Meanwhile, he failed to interview Curtis entirely.

33. Unfortunately, those were my conclusions, too
I couldn't believe that KO's blog would be so lopsided. He repeated statements from Yang and Feeney as if they were 'facts'. 'Cause, ya know, why would they lie? :eyes:

I'm all for both sides of the story. Always. Just stating both sides sometimes goes a long way towards highlighting just which side is lying through its proverbial teeth. Unfortunately, Keith didn't state both sides. Not in one place, anyway. If he mentions the other side in another blog, that does nothing to counter this entry. Someone would have to know enough to go searching for the counterpoint.

It's a very good thing that Keith is taking a vacation right now. He obviously needs one. And I say that with much admiration for his work. This one piece, though....Eh. Not so much. Except for the comments on the 'liberal' media, he quit blogging long before he was finished.

37. Perhaps KO has some background info on Curtis not revealed in his blog...
It really is out of character for Keith to accept Yang and Feeny's statements at face value. It seems far more likely to me that the Countdown staff have unearthed something that gives additional credence to Y&F's claims. If not, then bad Keef -- nothing but a lump of coal for you this Christmas.

40. Then he needs to post it. Now.
Because the 'facts' as presented are severely underwhelming. We're supposed to take the word of:

Yang Enterprises, who employed a Chinese spy, deported for stealing info. about NASA. Never mind that the spy is the brother of one of Yang's owners, no less, and the brother-in-law of the other. Never mind that they denied he was deported and denied he was ever employed by them. Never mind that they corrected those 'mistakes' only when shown the proof. Maybe she honestly forgot she had a brother. :eyes:

Feeney, whose record is one of self-interest and ham-handed machinations that would make DeLay proud. Feeney, who worked hand-in-glove with Yang. Feeney, whose offices were in the same building as Yang.

And Yang's lawyer, who was, coincidentally enough, Feeney's law partner.

Sure. That could happen. :eyes:

34. Read KO's last two paragraphs of Hocking county
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 12:44 PM by mdb
"But the real impact in Hocking is the simple fact that a computer technician had access to the voting equipment in violation of the Ohio Secretary of State’s controversial extension of the “canvassing period.” Simply put, according to Kenneth Blackwell, nobody should’ve been allowed to dust the machine, let alone replace a battery or parts, except under extremely controlled circumstances".

"Thus the evidence of a “fix” in Hocking is almost nil. The evidence of holes in the security of the voting system big enough to drive a full-sized scandal through, is conclusive".

Just because the man isn't ready to don a tinfoil stetson and go galloping off into the wild wild election fraud wilderness with the rest of us, doesn't mean he's making fun of the story, or of us.

We really need to keep it real, you know. There's an awful lot of weirdness and lunatic fringe type stuff floating around out here. Olbermann helps keep it real. He is a useful sanity check.

41. Dear Keith...
Subject: Wheat or Chaff?

Purportedly from the Eaton/Hocking affadivit:

>> He advised Lisa and I on how to post a "cheat sheet" on the wall so that only the board members and staff would know about it and and what the codes meant so the count would come out perfect and we wouldn't have to do a full hand recount of the county. He left about 5:00 PM.<<

Not that we're not pleased to hear about prosecutors writing things off, and comedies of errors, and that a "recreation" by a suspected tamperer is accepted as good enough by a "patrolman." (I'm reminded of Det. Tom Lange wandering aroud the Simpson estate with Reeboks on his clipboard, wanting us to seriously believe he'd accepted the word of a murder suspect about which shoes he wore to the crime.)

But if you're there to declare to the world there's no there there, there ought to be something there about the there that's there.

So there.

Elephant. Living Room. Glasses?
