I just heard an NPR story about Conyers ....
Lying in bed at 8:40 a.m. PST, I heard an NPR story on CapRadio, Sacramento, California. They said that John Conyers was asking the networks for their exit poll data, but the networks were refusing, telling him they were still analyzing the data! Without the exit poll data, Conyers said they would not be able to challenge the election results! They also mentioned Zogby's exit polls in the report. Anyone else catch this from NPR?

48. I thought your "old growth" comments were pathetic, but you've
managed to top them. Do you really think that you are flying under the radar with your inane comments. You give yourself away completely with their obvious lack of logic.

You are terribly misinformed if you think that coming in here with a pocket full of moronic, rushian, elementary school level comments will weaken our resolve to see your master in hadncuffs.

Trade your handful of toddler comments for some sort of clue, if you can find someone fool enough. You might find someone here, there are plenty of two-year old copntributors at DU lateley.

10. they are still trying to figure out how to change the polling data
to make it all seem to make sense. The raw exit poll data is always sent over to the Univ. of Michigan data website. Any university member can access it and most universities are members. The 2004 data has not yet been uploaded. Here is the website: and here is the 2000 exit poll data (you will need a member login):

13. He is right
Conyers, all of us, need all the exit polling data from the entire day.

Only this way can a comparison or study be correctly processed going back to the good old days when exit polling boasted 98% to 99% accuracy.

And the networks knew who won long before the first state polls were closed.

We need to stay focused....stop being manipulated by this crap.

Everybody needs to create their own 'LIST' of evidence with links included. Keep shooting out those emails!

Everybody needs to stay on the OFFENSE and write to everyone they know, including republican politicians. But most importantly, everyone needs to get folks to write their Senators and USReps in their state.

Stop reacting to Rove!

40. All Conyers did was to tell the truth, in a public forum kind of way
He was not acting like a "master," he was merely giving the facts of life to a lot of people who clearly don't understand how many bills are shoved at congress critters in the final minutes. What Conyers said in Farenheit 9/11 didn't surprise me in the least. Michael Moore was giving everyone a lot of "bet you didn't know this" kind of info in his movie.

Direct your anger and energy towards changing the way Congress operates, but don't kill the messenger.

49. Yea, like me being angry about would matter for something
What I am basically saying is if keep on trying to solve the problem with the same attempted solution that didn't work before........... well you know the rest.

We all must sit up and take notice that we can only gain the high ground when we don't depend on others to give us the answers. Governments are erected to subdue people. For a people to be free it would take that whole or the largest portion possible and forge a way forward regardless of any erected or natural obstacles. Governments never solved anything of their own volition, it has always been the people that surrounded them and forced it that way

27. It is important to read Congressman Conyers letter to MSM
Raw Story has posted a facsimile of a letter that Congressman Conyers sent to Anne Sweeney, Co-Chairman, Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company and President, Disney-ABC Television Group; Bob Wright, President, NBC; Gail Berman, President, FOX; Jim Walton President, CNN; Thomas Curley, President, Associated Press; and Andrew Heyward, President, CBS.

He requests the 'raw exit poll data' that Mitofsky is refusing to release.

The link to the facsimile is here:

http://rawstory.rawprint.com/1204/conyers_exit_polls_12...

Focus on this quote from the letter (I doubt if NPR had the guts to read these two sentences):

"As you are aware, the American citizenry has voiced a collective lack of faith in government to carry out fair election procedures. It is important that the Judiciary Committee access raw voter poll data so that discrepancies between those numbers and certified election results can be investigated...."

Of course, the media will attempt to stall until after the inauguration.

Our overwhelming message to the media is -- WRONG CHOICE!

And, what we simply need to do is to shove into the media's face and every other member of the 109th US Congress (before 6 Jan 2005) exactly what Congressman Conyers makes exceptionally clear, to wit: "As you are aware, the American citizenry has voiced a collective lack of faith in government to carry out fair election procedures."

That is an amazing sentence.

I think it is interesting that that letter was sent yesterday, the day after Congressman Conyers appeared on Ed Schultz' show and made the unambiguous statement that "Absolutely. .... Sure I do. There will be a number of them, as a matter of fact." in response to Ed Schultz's question "Do you think there will be a senator to stand up and contest?"

That Mitofsky and the networks are attempting to cover-up the 'raw exit poll data' is truly stupid as it makes them culpable, at best. And, more importantly it further justifies Congressman Conyers and his colleagues in the HR and Senate challenging the election.

Talk about a 'rock and a hard place' that is exactly where Congressman Conyers now has anyone contributing to "...the American citizenry's .... collective lack of faith in government to carry out fair election procedures."

Mitofsky, the MSM and others can now start doing 'the math' on the cost of their loyalty to Rove and BushCo.

Peace.

p.s. Validation is so very important and I've often found that the first, most intense and wonderful form of validation is when those who most fear the implications of what one is doing start attacking. And, we're starting to get some validation!!!

28. NPR distorts things these days. Sort of like reading an "AP" article
headline. You don't really know what the article is saying until the last couple of paragraphs.

There are forces at work against Conyers. Read the Salon interview with him...he was very articulate about his objectives in that article. Forget NPR...they get money from the Government and Corporations. The little donors in the "Public" just pay for the stamps. :-(

32. we need to turn this into an ACTION ITEM
we need to hit the networks hard with emails, petitions, etc about releasing the exit polls.

this is a key issue and it may decide the whole thing. If the exit polls are released more senators will consider contesting the electors.

We've been hitting the senators hard for the last week. We need to continue that but now we need to hit the networks just as hard. We need to tell them that exit poll data is OURs not theirs. The votes they counted are OUR votes.

What's the biggest difference between Ukraine and USA? in Ukraine, they actually had the exit polls to look at.

Maybe organize a boycott on key advertisers. Maybe a rally at the network headquarters.

This seems like a perfect opportunity for Michael Moore to do one of his "investigations" where he goes to a company's headquarters with a camera and starts asking questions. Sleeping Giant, we need you now.

But in the meantime WE need to take all the methods we've used to contact our senators about contesting the vote and turn it towards the networks.

email campaigns, petitions, all of the above. bring it on. I'll post it all on SolarBus.

on government or public documents. These are not public documents, but only private documents.
Conyers has no subpeona power due to the fact that this is not a congressional investigation, just a forum that the democratic members of the judicial committee are conducting.
