4. They are the unofficial King County numbers without the 725
ballots that the Supreme Court decided will be counted.

Here's how KOMO (a local station here) puts it:
KOMO NEWS ALERT: King County reported +59 votes for Gregoire, giving Gregoire the overall lead in the statewide manual recount by 10 votes. This does not count the 725 ballots the Supreme Court said can be counted.

5. This is WITHOUT the 700 ruled on today.
But since they're from King County, you'd expect Gregoire's lead to widen with those in there.

7. So, if we count the recount totals from all the other counties
then Gregoire is up by 10 votes -- prior to the counting of the 770 King County ballots...right? Sweet...:bounce:

8. That's right. These are WITHOUT the uncounted votes.
We cna only expect her lead to widen. And also, the R's hinged quite a bit on those ballots, what will they say since we won without them?

9. What if ?
I'm wondering, what if it turns out that really the vast majority of those uncounted absentee ballots are for Gregoire? Would that be evidence of cheating?

10. Now let's get all the Prez votes counted!!
Edited on Wed Dec-22-04 07:26 PM by DELUSIONAL
Some people are saying that Kerry is working in the background -- I want to believe that this is true.

Kerry -- take a lesson from Gregoire -- she is tough and she is a lawyer! She made the point that all the votes must be counted -- and I say that should include ALL the votes cast in the USA for Prez.

Or perhaps Kerry will fight -- in the House and Senate -- the Dems must come together and demand that every vote matters.

Washington also kicked out Slade Gorton four years ago -- but it took a recount of a very tight election.

This time the wacko Religious Right attempted to run someone who has a facade of a "normal" person. Washington has been dealing with the right wing wackos since the mid 1980s -- they took over the Republican party -- just kicked out the real Republicans and took over.

12. You know, that's what really gets me...
Gregoire didn't just fight to have all her people's votes counted...She fought hard against her own parties pressure to make sure EVERYONES ballots were counted. The DNC was giving her a hard time, encouraging her to jsut have king county recounted. But she stood by her guns to do the right thing by republicans and democrats alike. She fought for hte will of the voters no matter the outcome. I wish like hell the papers would recognize that move and give her credit where it is clearly due. She won the reward of the just by taking a chance on doing the right thing. She never went hte lawsuit route for republican ballots being casted...she paid for the recount herself rather than hand-pick counties...and as a result she won.

There's a lesson in there for the wise.

15. It's a good thing, too.
Because if she had let just King county be counted, and a dem controlled BOE just "happened" to find 735 uncounted votes on the second recount ... charges of fraud would abound. (They're already out there.)

16. Excellent point.
Along SoS Reed, she deserves all due credit for taking a principled stand on the hand recount.

13. Kerry take a lesson from Gregoire indeed!
It's a bit late now, but if he'd been as tenaciously principled as she's been, we might have seen justice done in this Presidential election!

17. You are aware, of course, that Kerry had a hand in this victory
and so I'm sure it's lessons haven't escaped him.

18. What hand did Kerry have in this?
He shelled out $250,000 (mouse nuts to him) after pleas from thousands like myself to fork it over. Same with the DNC. The rest came from grassroots donations through DU, AAR and Mike Webb.

Kerry wrote a check, after being pressured into it.

19. It was still something
He was asked, and he gave. He didn't have to do a damn thing really. Joe Voter wouldn't have known the difference, in all likelihood.

I believe someone stated that those mouse nuts were the max he could give legally.

You can say he was pressured, but still the Washington people were grateful, saying he'd come to the rescue.

Point being, he still had a hand in the victory. I still give him credit.

Did anyone pressure him about Louisiana that you recall? I don't, but I also don't get a chance to read everything here. I remember the big deal made about Washington State, but not Louisiana.
