Jan.6th Letter: "Naughty or Nice?"

We are African American and we have been the steadfast voice of the Democratic Party. In this election the VOTES of our people, along with millions of others, have been silenced.

Now we need you to raise your hand and be counted on January 6th.
We need you to STAND UP and let America and the World know that you are against VOTER SUPPRESSION and FRAUD.

If we don't see you make a stand on January 6th we will know that you do not care about African Americans as a people nor do you care about our right to vote!

In America that is not acceptable. For African Americans the Elections of 2000 and 2004 represent the 21st Century version of Slavery.

We will be watching carefully.

In this holiday season we ask that you be drum majors for justice!

On January 6th, when they certify the Electoral College, the world will see who "will be naughty and who will be nice."

As loyal Democrats we beg you to be "nice" and STAND UP for those that have been LOYAL to the Democratic Party and demonstrated their beliefs in the RIGHTS of ALL citizens to have their votes be EQUAL and COUNTED.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

1. I vote for naughty.
Our representatives need to be reminded that they're just that, OUR representatives.

By the people and for the people.

2. F 911 left me steaming

If we have to watch a repeat of that scene it will be MARCH time up to the offices of the Representatives.

You are right, they think they are in business for themselves.

My wallet will be zipped if they let this one be glossed over.

3. pa rum pa pum pum!!!!!
It is all about integrity and doing the right thing! I believe that ALL Americans, regardless of party affiliation, have a duty to uphold the TRUTH! Discrimination of any type cannot be tolerated! ...a letter I sent to JK late last week...

Dear Mr. Kerry,
I teach high school and I was hoping to give a
different perspective re: the 2004 election fraud. I
love what I do. My students are indeed the future of
this country and it concerns me when they express
cynical and jaded views regarding the direction of our
political system. These young adults see things
fairly black and white because they have not had the
life experiences that often taint our beliefs as we
grow older. Therefore, I find it critically
imperative that these young adults have a moral
compass and role models that embrace honor, integrity
and courage. They are watching us closely right now
and it becomes increasingly difficult to explain that
corruption hasn't infected everything throughout this
country. How can we expect them to "do the right
thing" for their generation if we are unwilling to
model ethical behavior from our own? Mr. Kerry- you
have a unique opportunity to LEAD these young adults
by your EXAMPLE! I realize this task will not be an
easy one. You have displayed courage and leadership
throughout your lifetime by drawing strength from your
convictions...we need you now more than ever before!
Please trust that the 60 million people who share in
your values will be behind you in this fight. There
is so much at stake. The future of our country
depends on it! Your leadership and passion for
integrity will ignite a flame of promise for these
young adults...good CAN triumph over evil! I hope you
will continue to challenge the authenticity of the 2004
election regardless of the outcome. Fighting for the
integrity of our democracy can only be a winning
proposition! Thank you.

Have faith! We will not let you down! PEACE! ...A weary world rejoices!

6. I thank you, my ancestors thank you

If we don't stand up for the least among us we will all fail.

Conyers and the other African Americans in congress must not stand alone this time.

If we don't learn a lesson from that powerful scene in MM's movie we deserve to have our country turned over to the Neo Cons.

Will you be marching on Jan. 6th?

I plan to march in Los Angeles.

8. Reverend Jackson Called It Bigger Than Selma - We Must Make It So!
So long as a single voter is disenfranchised or oppressed, every American is enslaved.

10. LTE's to African American publications,
discussion on Radio stations across America, Tavis Smiley on PBS should have JJ on as a guest, and most importantly where are our churches on this? Just some general ideas to get us started... :)

9. I'm one of those 'white' folk....
Edited on Sat Dec-25-04 03:22 PM by understandinglife
.....but the genes are a combination of recent Italian immigrant and anglo-saxon that stretch back to Charles Carroll of Carrollton. Some ancestors had slaves; some worked as unpaid child (under the age of 13) laborers/servants. But, at least some of them had the courage to sign the Declaration of Independence and others had the courage to fight in the resistance in France and many of the ones whom I watched each day as a child recognized the dignity of every person and behaved accordingly.

So, when I began reading about the thugs the repugs where shipping to OH and elsewhere to harass my fellow citizens and then saw what happened on 2 Nov 2004 to so many of those citizens, well, the blood boiled just as it did in my youth as I watched 'Selma' from my TV in San Antonio Texas.

I assure you we are not going to allow a repeat of 6 Jan 2001.

Members of the 109th US Congress can either all stand on 6 Jan 2005 and challenge this fraudulent, disenfranchising 2004 national election process or, we the people, are going to kick their butts out of DC long before 2006/8 (the "Gray Davis" recall played out all over the nation, and several impeachments, for starters).

We will prevail.

Period.
