The Election, Part 2: Fraud, Intimidation, and Suppression
by Hunter
Wed Dec 22nd, 2004 at 11:37:19 PST

(I originally planned to have Part II be entirely devoted to "fraud" theories that haven't panned out. I'll probably still do that at some point, but it is seeming less necessary, at the moment, and I'd rather just skip to the meat of the problem. -- Hunter)

The last few weeks have brought an ever-expanding list of assertions about what did or did not happen in Ohio during this election cycle; by my count, there are at least six different interconnected conspiracies being floated. My last post hemmed and hawed about why caution was necessary in directly promoting any such theories. This time, I'll cut to the chase.

Was there fraud, in this election, in Ohio?

Yes. Absolutely.

When you filter out the unproven, the half-proven, and the sheer nonsense among the various assertions, there is still a core there which is unambiguous, which is serious, and which is Fraud. Specifically, it has been established at this point that there were, in the battleground states, organized and deliberate voter suppression efforts, many of which relied on the deception of voters in order to render their votes either invalid or uncastable.

1. Check out the maps at the bottom of this article
If you don't understand correlations -- well look at the maps and you will.

The vast majority of "spoiled" ballots were in black majority districts.

2. This is exactly what happened to my hair dresser in NJ.
"Longtime voters finding themselves inexplicably removed from the voting rolls, and having to cast provisional ballots, as a result of state "purging" of the rolls. In some areas, the "affidavit" lines for casting provisional, HAVA-required ballots were themselves an additional hour long, or longer, in addition to whatever time the voter had already spent in the original precinct lines; needless to say, the reports are filled with instances of voters turning away without voting."

She lives in Ocean County - a puke county, and when she went to sign the book at her polling (She always voted there) her name was missing. They had no record of her past signatures and worst of all, they refused her a provisional ballot. They told her she had to go to the court house to present her case, which she did - after waiting four hours among dozens of black people doing the same thing, some of the crying - rejected. After proving her residency, the court issued her a provisional ballot and demanded that she give a D or an R as party affiliation. No I's please they said. (Wonder why?) She has no idea if her vote was ever counted.

5. 'I' don't need to wonder why
Every one of these public servants who disenfranchised voters need to be put in a line-up to be held accountable for their actions. Across the nation ALL of those responsible should be held accountable...after all, isn't that the mantra the pukes use to explain how they are justified in their abuse/neglect of the poor, underemployed, infirmed, and elderly....they should be responsible for themselves. It is time for them to reap the consequences of their actions.:grr:

6. I bet many, many people who were disenfranchised don't yet see it
as a part of a systemic plot to stop them from voting. Which is why there's not yet a groundswell of outrage about this from the people who were denied their vote.

Probably a lot them think, Well, I must have made a mistake somewhere, must have put the wrong address down, must have registered too late, should have taken care of this earlier, should have called to check to make sure I was still registered, it's my fault...

I had no problem voting, but if I had, I'd immediately wonder what I did wrong.

7. Due largely to their misinformation campaign
How many stories (ironic use of the word, don't ya think) have I seen on the MSM explaining to all of us how stupid we Democrats are for not understanding how to vote correctly?!! This, of course, explains all of the statistical abnormalities, cover-up behavior, and overt voter intimidation & suppression.
Regardless of how long it takes us, we must not end our endeavor until ALL voters know their rights, are allowed to exercise them, and we have meaningful reform that does not allow an unverifiable election to be accepted as legitimate.

3.  Appreciate you! Uh, Will, step ever so slowly away from the keyboard.
You can do it! You were tired (ass kicked or something to that effect) and going to take a rest. We need you healthy and rarin' to go. It is quite odd to see you having a KO problem...time off does something odd to us all. But alas, was this one (another good one)just one for the road? Enjoy your holidays and THANK YOU! ;).

9. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, close your eyes, deep breaths
in through you nose, out through your slightly parted lips. Relax. Turn your computer off. Lay flat on your back and imagine all of your muscles relaxing. Take deep breaths, slow and steady, in through your nose, out through your lips. Tomorrow is another day. Rest.

You have done good Will, now go to sleep.
